FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern

Ok, I have to put pretty much all of this email because it is just so funny!! B, I hope you don't mind that I am putting your email here. I just laughed when I read it and I believe it will bless others who read it. This is two pictures of an awesome GrandMommy custom creation using SewSensible's FAITH sewing pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!! Too too cute!! Love the fabric combination!

Here is what this GrandMommy said, "Hi Aimee'........ I just love visiting your website and am having a blast making these sets from your patterns! I am completely convinced that my 'NeverBeforeEverTouchedASewingMachineHusband' could follow your patterns and create darling outfits for our granddaughters! Of course his choice of fabrics could be his undoing since a tent canvas with wide mouth bass burlap overlay Faith top probably wouldn't appeal to many little ladies. I could be wrong since my last trip to the mall revealed a group of neo-teen lassies with, honest to goodness, spinner bait earrings.......hehehe Anyway, I did want to show you my latest creation using the Faith top and Boutique Bottoms patterns created for our middle granddaughter. My daughter in law is so excited to try it on that little punkin and my daughter is anxiously awaiting a set for her daughter, our youngest granddaughter. Thank you again for your hard work in creating these beautiful, detailed and perfectly displayed patterns! They are a joy to follow and their creations a blessing to give."

Thank you, B, for just a joy of an email and blessing me with these pictures!!

New Sewing Pattern!

Here is the cover of my new sewing pattern: HOPE JOY Bubble Top! I still have to complete the instructions and the description so I am not sure if I will have it before next weekend. My goal is to have it ready by Wednesday but that may be too soon for me. Anyway, I am very happy with the way it turned out and it was the perfect other option for the Twirl SKORT!! However, it would look great with a pair of ruffled jeans or even a matching Boutique Bottoms!! Oh, and this sewing pattern goes up to size 7. All my other ones go up to size 6.

Grace is my model for this pattern. It was her turn since Rose was the cover model for FAITH. Yes, I had to bribe her with some gum to finish these pictures but overall she did a great job!!!!! I know.....I am a little biased!

Ok, on a side note..... I finally made me a top this weekend!! Woo hooo! I decided to go ahead and make a matching Mommy Bubble Top and I have to say that after making it I cannot believe I actually thought I would look good in a BUBBLE TOP!!!!! What woman wants to add pounds with a Bubble shirt!!!!! :) And I used my good Ginger Blossom fabric. I should have known better! Anyway, it was fun to finally sew something for me and I know I want to do it again! Eventually I do want to make me a pair of Boutique Bottoms without the ruffles of course. One day!!

HOPE JOY Bubble Top and Twirl SKORT sewing patterns!

Well, remember when my sweet Mom came over the other day and watched my children that were home to let me start my next sewing patter? She also decided that afternoon to take two of our girls with her so for the past two days I have only had two children at home during the day!!!!! This is huge for me because normally I have four at home so this has allowed me to get busy!! :) I wrote out the instructions last night and today I was able to sew the Twirl SKORT to match my HOPE JOY Bubble Top. This is the outfit that will be part of the cover. Oh, and a big thank you to the Holy Spirit who I just know lullabied my sweet one year old to sleep for a great morning nap that allowed me to sew this SKORT! And I am not kidding, as soon as I sewed the last stitch of the last step to complete my sewing project, Elijah woke up!!!!! Now that is no coincidence to me! Thanks, Mom, and thank you, Lord, for giving me this time! :)

Ok, this last picture has absolutely nothing to do with sewing but as I was outside taking pictures of the skort and bubble top I thought you might like to see what I drive on a daily basis!! :) This is our family van and the car I drive to Walmart when I am by myself. HUGE!!!!! During the beginning of our marriage I used to tell Tommy that no way would I ever drive a utility vehicle. Because, you know, I was wayyyyy to cool for a utility vehicle!! Well, God showed me..... He let me know I do not drive a utility vehicle..... now it is just a commercial looking 10 passenger white church-looking van!!!!! LOL He does have a humor you know! I have no more pride!!!!! LOL If some of you are just finding this blog and don't really know me and why I would need such a beautiful big white van. You can visit me here! :)

Be blessed today! :)

My New Sewing Pattern!!

Well!!!!! I am so excited about this new sewing pattern. I have been thinking about what would look good with the Twirl SKORT. The Dress Tops really do not do it because you don't get to see the look of the whole SKORT. The most popular shirt has been a custom applique tee or just a plain tee. As cute as that is, I wanted more options and that is how I came up with this Top. It will look awesome with the Twirl SKORT or with a coordinating Boutique Bottoms or with a cute pair of ruffled jeans (which I know I still need to write!) So here it is!!

HOPE JOY Bubble Top

My plan is to complete everything by this weekend. :) And I have to give a BIG BIG Thank you to my Mom!!!!! I have been talking to her about my next pattern and how I just could not find the time and so she called me this morning and told me it had been on her mind through the night and that she was on her way over to my home to watch the toddlers so that I could start it!!!!! I was able to sew it, take all the pictures, and now I need to write the instructions and design the cover. Thank you thank you thank you, My Mother!!!!! But of course Mom would want to do this with enthusiasm since she had waited for years and years for her daughter (me) to love sewing as much as she does!!!!! So don't give up Moms who want their daughter to love sewing..... I am hope that they can love it one day!! :) I'll give the story behind HOPE JOY in my next post!

FAITH sewing pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern with a Lemon Twist!

Ok, I have to show you the CUTEST outfit my sewing friend made: FRESH LEMONADE!! First, let me tell you about Melanie! She has a gift of edification, exhortation, and encouragement! If you are remotely feeling the slightest bit down email Melanie because she will make you feel great in no time flat!! I met her through my SewSensible blog and have come to look forward to her emails! See, SewSensible is more than just ol'patterns, it's a place where we Mommies and GrandMommies and Aunts can break free from the weight of this world and take a much needed breather. I know for me, sewing helps me get balanced again especially after a long day of disciplining and training my children in the way they should go!! It is exhausting at times!! And I know I am not alone. Anyway, Melanie kept me in suspense all night and then I was gone all day but just now this is what I got to see!

I had to put all of them because I just could not leave one out! :) Melanie used SewSensible's FAITH sewing pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern. The Twist is not only in the cutest embroidered Lemonade Stand but also in the Bottoms. I love how creative she is (and some inspiration from her husband! :) Instead of adding ruffles to the Boutique Bottoms she added elastic in the leg as well as ric rac!! OK, this is a super cute outfit!! Melanie, it is time to go in business for yourself with these creations! Your daughter seems to be a natural at modeling :) And if you are interested in purchasing this adorable outfit you may click here!

Side note: I have been researching embroidery machines and talking with Melanie and I am definite that I will be expanding SewSensible down digital embroidery path! I cannot wait! I look forward to partnering my sewing patterns with some custom embroidery designs!! And if you did not know yet, You Can Make This! has a new sister site coming called SWAK Embroidery! There will be free ebooks on how to embroidery for all of you who may be interested. They have a newsletter right now to sign up for. Sign up here!

Thanks so much, Melanie, for an incredible outfit!!!!! You totally went above and beyond on this one!

Next Sewing Patterns!!

Ok, I have so many pattern ideas and definitely not enough time to get them finished in the time I want!! This is a sneak peak at my next sewing pattern! I know, I am still working on enlarging FAITH and some others but last night I finally figured out a cute cute top to go with the Twirl SKORT. I made one this morning while my smallest two decided that the elastic would make a great great toy to play with!! :) So during my cutting and sewing, I had Grace running around the table with elastic in hand as Elijah tried to get the end before it disappeared!!!!! Yes, it did get caught up in everything in its path! It wouldn't be a normal design sewing day without a little chaos at our home!

Anyway, this is my next one! It's only the first one I've done. I still have some more to test and tweak it a little but I already bought the cutest fabric for this one. I think you will be very happy with this one!

Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

I have met so many nice and kind people through SewSensible that I now call friends. Melanie is one of those blessings SewSensible has sent me (even if it is via blog and emails! :) Today I received these awesome pictures of an outfit she made her daughter using the Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern! Melanie, I love them!!!!! She shortened the length and instead of adding the ruffle she put a brown band around the bottom for trim. It really made the pants stand out! And your daughter is a little princess! Thank you so much for blessing me today!

Next Sewing Pattern

There are so many hats my husband and I wear that sometimes I have to step back and focus on one or two just to keep from feeling weighed down :) My husband and I lead an orphan adoption ministry at our church called "His Heart for Orphans". As some of you know, we have eight children. Six God blessed us through adoption and two He blessed us through birth. It is our passion to see orphans adopted and connect family and adoption resources together. Our next adoption workshop which we do four times a year is April 26 and then Tommy and I are going to attend the fifth orphan adoption summit May 1,2,3. So I have been focused on this the past week:)

Currently I have 3 dress designs that I have drawn on paper that I hope to start soon. However, my first priority is getting my current designs into bigger sizes! I am working on the making FAITH bigger. I have half of it drawn out. The "His Heart for Orphans" needs my focus at this moment but as soon as I finish what needs to be finished with that I will complete FAITH bigger sizes and then enlarge my Boutique Bottoms and I would like to enlarge my Twirl SKORT.

In the meantime, if you have a custom Mommy, GrandMommy, or Aunt creation to show off, please don't hesitate to email it to me!!

Twirl SKORT skirt Sewing Pattern!

Cute cute cute!!!!! Look how cute!! This is a blogging friend of mine, Leigh Ann, who created the most adorable Mommy creation for her little princess, Elle, using SewSensible's Twirl SKORT Sewing Pattern! Here is what this Mommy said, "I am in love with this pattern! Thank you so much!"

Thank you, Leigh Ann, for blessing me with these pictures! Elle is absolutely precious!! I love this pattern too! It just looks so cute on the little girls! And the best part is they can flip, turn, slide, ride bikes and never show their undies!

liftinghands.blogspot.com

Also Leigh Ann has some great blogs to read. One that is very important to me is the Lifting Hands blog she has where you can go and pray for your children! I put these prayers and scriptures on my family blog weekly and it is just a great source and important role I take as my children's Mom to war for my children and see victories in their life! Thank you so much for that blog, Leigh Ann! She is also known in the blog world as Momma Roar. Visit her blog from here!
