New Spring Dress Sewing Pattern!

I have been working on two Spring dress patterns (along with visiting our local garden center and purchasing some cucumber, squash, zuchinni, tomato, pear, cantelope, cilantro, and mint plants for our Spring garden).  I am designing the dresses as simple as possible for you beginners!  Here is a quick picture of one.  This is a size 6.  Grace turned 7 (I can't believe 7 already)!!  This ended up being her birthday dress.  It was such a dainty fit and she looked beautiful in it.  This dress is already designed up to size 10 and I am hoping to add a few more sizes to reach the teens.  I am listening to all those emails from Moms who want bigger sizes.  My new patterns will have bigger sizes :)  I have not tested sizes 6months -4 yet.  I will be doing that next week.  I pray all of you have a very blessed week!  

SewSensible Colors and Sewing Pattern Covers!

I have been working on my covers for my physical patterns! When you are a one-woman show there is ALOT of learning that takes place!! I will tell more about my decision in another post because I don't want to say for sure until I am for sure!! (and if you are a distributor or wholesaler that purchased SewSensible Physical Patterns my plan is to send you the new covers to replace originals.) But here is what I have narrowed down so far: Consistency and my colors for SewSensible. I just can't get away from these colors because they just inspire me so much! More to come about this as I finalize my decision.

And I had to add a picture of when I was 39!! LOL Cannot believe I am having such a hard time with this birthday. I have always been a "celebrate your birthday months in advance" kind of girl!! Anyway, God has laid a vision on my heart for SewSensible and the other passionate areas of my life so I enter my 40's standing on Joshua 1:9 (which God laid in front of me the moment I sat to read His word yesterday morning! It was a God moment!! It was so spot on for me and how I was feeling!) And the great thing about this scripture is that it is a command! So I actually have no other choice but to obey it!! LOL So here I go.....

"I command you--be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Busy with our little ones at vacation bible school and Rock the River event that was held at our city yesterday and also working on the next physical patterns graphics: Twirl SKORT, Tween Teen Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms, and Reversible Pleated Dress Top! These should be physical in the next 45 days. The graphics do not take away from the original way I had my directions (with photos)..... my directions are still designed with the beginner in mind and you would be amazed at how a first time Mommy sewer can start creating boutique quality and boutique looking outfits in no time!!

Tween Teen Sewing Patterns!

Ok, I am excited to post these pictures!! This is an awesome Mommy creation using SewSensible's Tween Teen Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns! And what is exciting about the pictures is that this Mommy is a high school friend I was able to reconnect with at our 20 year reunion last year! It had been a long time talking to her and she was like a diamond in the rough! Here is what this Mommy said,

Oh, I was so excited to get Rose to try on her dress this morning. And then Grace wanted to wear hers so I have been having fun looking at them all morning in their new dresses! Rose's was not gathered as much as Grace's for the dress panel and I believe I will gather it more. I rather the look of slightly more gathers than Rose's has. Other than that, I am very happy with the outcome of the pattern. Today I cut out a size 7/8 to make for Zoë. I am hoping to have this pattern for Tweens and Teens. We will have to see :)

Tween Teen Sewing Patterns!

While I am watching my newest design, Applique' Monkey, being tested, I am also working on my new pattern cover look. The Young Girls sewing patterns will have a pink background and the Tween Teen sewing patterns will have a blue background. I am trying to simplify the SewSensible look!

Look at all these fabulous custom Mommy Creations! I just came back from our family vacation which was so enjoyable and refreshing! Wait.....7 children on the trip is not really refreshing!! LOL It was a lot of work by my Mom, my husband, and me but yes it was "All Good!!" We even were blessed to meet another family who adopted 10 children!! Made our family look small!! God is good!

Tween Teen Sewing Patterns!

Here is one of my tester's custom creations using SewSensible's Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns for Tweens and Teens! How awesome! Thanks so much, H! I love the fabric combination! This outfit also has the optional bodice ruffle on the Boutique Dress Top. I can just see all the possibilities for these patterns for holidays, birthdays, special occasions, etc...!

Tween Teen Sewing Patterns! Pajamas!

Well, here is a new customer creation: a Tween custom creation!! This awesome Tween made herself a pair of pajamas using SewSensibl'e Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern for Tweens and Teens!! She is 10 years old!! Wow!! Look how great they turned out! Here is what her Mom said,

"Just wanted to send you these pics from the PJ pant making day around here! I made younger DDs pants with the pink camo frog print she picked out using the (Tween Teen)boutique bottom pant in the XS size, fit her perfectly! Older DD made her pants, with the Disney fairy fabric she picked out, pretty much all by herself! She is 10 and has done some sewing before but this is the first garment she has made! She loved doing it and was a super easy project for her to start on! THANKS AGAIN!!!"

Thanks, R, for blessing me with these pictures! They look awesome and I know you are a proud Mommy!! :) I can't wait for my girls to sew! This would make a great gift for her to make her friend's for their birthdays! She'll be giving the best gift at the party!! (Ok, unless someone else gives money!! Here is the precious Elizabeth!! Isn't she just adorable and she is just as sweet in person! Elizabeth and her sister Emily who is just as kind and adorable will be my models for my Tween Teen sewing patterns! I am so blessed to have them live right down the street. What an amazing family they are and love the Lord with all their heart! I am almost finished the instructions and just need to put it all together and let my testers test the sizes as well! I am aiming to release these two patterns in two weeks.

Sewing Patterns for Tweens and Teens!

I am very excited about enlarging my patterns for Tweens and Teens! I finished the photos I will be using for the Boutique Dress Top ebook. It looks like the Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns will be ready at the same time. I just couldn't have bottoms and not have a top to go with it. These patterns are as simple as my Young Girl Boutique Bottoms and Dress Top. In fact, they are so easy that your daughter and/or granddaughter can sew their own outfit!! ....or pajama bottoms as Kim suggested! :) The picture shown is size 7/8. The sizes for the Tweens and Teens will be size 7/8, 10/12, 14/16 and I have added a 14/16 plus.

Here is another line of fabric I will be using for another sewing pattern I am working on! I hope to have this one completed by mid-August as well but more likely the end of August! And while I am designing these, I am also thinking about great ways to incorporate your applique work!

Boutique Bottoms for Tweens and Teens!

I have been working on the instructions and patterns for the Boutique Bottoms for Tweens and Teens. The testers have sent me their photos and comments and I need to make a small adjustment to the height of the waist and the length but other than that I am very happy with them. There will be three options for the bottoms: regular hem, ruffles, or a band at the bottom of the pants! The awesome part about these pants is that they are so simple that your tween/teen daughter/granddaughter can sew her own pair of Boutique Bottoms! What an awesome project for those late night slumber parties!! Or a perfect opportunity to have some Mom/Daughter or GrandMother/Granddaughter time together!! And they will look super cute with SewSensible's Boutique Dress Top and FAITH Double layer Dress Top sewing patterns when I enlarge those!! And thank you Emily and Elizabeth for running over so quickly to model these pants for me! And thank you testers for pictures and comments!! See testers' photos below:
