Reversible Pleated Dress Top and Boutique Shorts!

Yesterday I was able to sew the FAITH Double Layer Dress Top pattern cover and also squeeze in some picture time with Grace and Annalyce. This will be the new cover to the Reversible Pleated Dress Top and matching Boutique Shorts sewing pattern.

Sewing Patterns for Beginners and New Covers!

I am busy working on many projects! For 2011, I have been working on all new covers for all my physical patterns along with adding something more to the patterns. Here is the first look at one pattern that will get something extra! For the Twirl SKORT physical sewing pattern I will be adding the HOPE JOY Bubble Top! I am excited about this because now when you purchase the physical pattern you will be able to make a complete outfit or just the Bubble Top by itself to go along with a pair of cute jeans or make just the Twirl SKORT to go along with a cute pair of boots and solid tee! Whatever you choose to make I am sure your little one will be cute in Mommy's creations!! I have redrawn the pattern to add the HOPE JOY Bubble Top and will be sending that to McCall's next week. I just need to double check everything before I send it off. I am almost finished with the directions except for the fabric requirements and little things like that.

For my next project I have been working on the Embellished PillowCase Dress! It is a simple pillowcase dress with three options of ruffles. I work very hard at making the directions as detailed as possible for all you beginner sew-ers! This is what takes me so long but I so enjoy the finished work when complete! I have the Embellished Pillowcase Dress pattern already drawn out and am three quarters of the way through with the directions and graphics. As most of you know, you can easily google a pillowcase dress and get the basics of how to sew one of these very poplular dresses. My goal with doing this dress, and I thought about it for a long time, was to offer a more simpler way of doing a couple of the steps. I believe you will like the outcome.

For the next project, I have cut out the cover outfits for the new FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and it will have a double layer skirt added to it. Something fun and very easy!

The next project are my aprons. I have corrected a few pattern dimensions but other than that I hope to have this one available as a download in February.

The last project until I get all these finished is to complete the Reversible Pleated Dress Top cover. I am adding some Boutique Shorts with this physical pattern with options of ruffle or band to the shorts.

Now you know what I have been doing!! I seem so scattered at times with so many projects but it is all coming together as it should.

New Sewing Pattern Reversible Pleated Dress Top!

Here is the reverse of the new sewing pattern! It is such a sweet look (ok, I may be biased!!) The favorite part is I can make one of these little dress tops in under an hour and have two dresses! This will be perfect for our Disney trip next month!! I will also have the Boutique Shorts with ruffle or band paired with it and I will also add directions for pantaloon (bloomers) in case some of you want that look too! This was a suggestion from a SewSensible friend!

Today I submitted FAITH's new directions to some testers and am still in need of a couple more testers who have never used FAITH Double Layer Dress Top pattern before. The new drawings and directions are for transitioning all my patterns to a physical pattern. I have some great tester photos of the Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms from some great women who volunteered to test the new directions for both! I will be posting their pictures this week and I received some other awesome Mommy creations over the weekend and last week too! I am a little behind because of the Foster Care Fun Day event we had and then April is a big birthday and anniversary month for us along with the celebration of Easter! It's all a blessing!

New Sewing Pattern!

Here are some quick snapshots I took of the girls yesterday. And Elijah had to be in there with his sisters!! These are not the best pictures but it gives you a better idea what the shoulder tie reversible pleated dress top will look like with the ruffle boutique shorts (with optional band instead of ruffle!) That was a mouthful..... i'll have to shorten that name for sure!

I told you I was making quick and simple outfits for Easter! This is my next pattern that will come out. It is a simple reversible shoulder tie dress top with matching shorts. The Boutique Shorts can be made with ruffles or a coordinating band. There are a couple changes that I believe I will make..... pleats or no pleats, or go the other direction with pleats. The ones above are one variation I am looking at but I have a few other ideas about the dress top. This is an ideal outfit for my southern daughters with the hot weather already here!! :) At least for a quick and simple three-days-before-Easter-outfit!! After this pattern will come another shoulder tie dress but not reversible. It will be very similar to the dress I made Grace for her birthday.

Twirl SKORT Skirt Sewing Pattern goes to Disney, FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!

And wasn't it just perfect to come back and have three pictures of these cute cute sisters in their Twirl SKORTS at Disney! Love this!! Here is what this awesome Mommy said, "Hi, Thought I'd send you a couple pics of my girls in their twirly skorts. I love them! I bought the pattern while planning the outfits to make for our Disney trip. Obviously, they wore these to the Animal Kingdom. It was great to have them in something cutesy and girly, but as you can see in the one picture, great to get "modest" pictures when they just want to play and not be ladylike. :) I will get lots of use out of this pattern, love it. Oh, and it was very easy to readjust your pattern as well, my not quite 3 year old is almost as tall as her 5 year old sister, but tiny slim. It was very easy to adjust -- in case anyone ever wonders about that. :) Thanks again!"

It is just a sweet design! Hats off to you for this cute cute custom outfit you made your little princess!! I have always loved the way the back of FAITH criss crosses. New Sewing Pattern, FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern, and Sew Forum!

I am not much of a forum girl and not because I don't like them..... it is more of trying to find the time to read and comment and just participate in the discussions. AllBrands told me about their forum and I have to say I love it! It is such a friendly place to visit and also see what others are sewing! It is called SewForum! Check it out if you haven't already!

I am busy working on SewSensible's Applique' Apron Skirt! It is coming out so cute! Ok, I know I may be a little biased!! There will be options: optional bow tie and of course you could just use another coordinating fabric and make the skirt without an applique and it comes out just as cute. Yesterday I started making one using a sewing machine applique from YouCanMakeThis! This is for all those that do not have embroidery machines. I use a little more length on my zig zag to give it more of a handmade look and also because I just am not a great sewing machine applique'-er! I love the way it is looking. I will finish it today and post pictures tonight hopefully.

Here is another outfit I made for our local AllBrands store. I used SewSensible's FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms to match. This is definitely more for the Spring but adding a peasant top underneath will work great for the fall and winter months! And it actually criss crosses in the back but this one was a little too big for Grace so I tied it a little tighter making it hide the criss cross look.

New Sewing Patterns!

Here is the fabric I will be using for one of my new skort designs! I have drawn it out and am working on the pantaloons and then I'll start the skirt of the skort (is that confusing! :) Anyway, it is a cute little design. I am also working on the Applique' Apron Skirt instructions. Both of these are simple to sew and will look so cute on your little princess! I also have a dress design I drew on paper that is a simple dainty dress. I need to make a test of it to see if this will be a future pattern. And then of course Christmas is around the corner and last year I told myself I would sew all the gifts in July but July came and went and here we are at the end of October! Where did the time go? So as I am working on these three patterns I will also be squeezing in some sewing time for Christmas!

On a very exciting note: this weekend I was part of our church's Live the Dream Conference. It was awesome but the reason I am saying this on my sewing blog is because one of my friends was talking about quilting to someone there and mentioned me and SewSensible Patterns and this girl said that the store she works for is interested in selling patterns from locals! At the beginning of this year I had been thinking about selling my patterns in stores but the cost to get it printed was a lot because my ebooks are not like commercial patterns. I have way too many details and way too many pages to make it cost effective. So a couple of months ago I started thinking of a different way to sell in stores and it looks like I made a connection at the Live the Dream conference! How exciting!! Today when I got home I sat down and wrote my plans for 2009 in regards to SewSensible. I am excited!

I know winter is around the corner but the trend this winter is leggings. I can already picture some cute pink, white, or red leggings with some super cute boots with these skirts and pantaloons!!
