Scoop Neck Dress Top Sewing Pattern with Long sleeve and elastic Options

Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern: I have tested the revisions and will be working on the pattern to send out to testers sometime this week. I am really happy about the look. I have made the waist tie in a knot slightly to the left in the front of the dress. In this picture I used the same fabric for waist tie and dress panel. I made the long sleeve option with elastic gathering at end of sleeves (which was requested by almost all testers). I have slightly changed the scoop of the neck to fit better and not as loose. This pattern still runs a little big so if you have a petite daughter, granddaughter or niece you may need to make the smaller size. My daughter Grace above is 4 years old but on the petite side and she is in the size 3,4 which as you can see still has alot of growing room (I am sure that was a run-on sentence of some sort!!) I will definitely be making our girls' Christmas dresses using this pattern!! Can't wait!

Physical Pattern update:
The Twirl SKORT sewing pattern and the Reversible Pleated Dress Top sewing pattern are both in the printing process. I hope to have both of them ready for distribution in two weeks. The Scoop Neck Dress Top with optional short or long sleeve with or without elastic gathered ends and the optional ruffle at bottom of dress will go to testers again this week. I hope to have this one available for distribution beginning to mid October.

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and Scoop Neck Dress Top with Long sleeve option sewing patterns!

Ok, I was just so excited to get this test of the revised Scoop Neck Dress Top with optional Long Sleeves! Love it!! Isn't she just beautiful in her custom outfit!! As you can tell, I am a big fan of front bows on a dress top or dress! There will be some changes to the placement of the waist ties. I am thinking about sewing them at the side as to have the option to tie in back but I am a front and a little to the left or right waist tie fan!! I just love the look! And of course I love the long sleeve option and it is so easy to sew!! I am waiting for the other tester comments and pictures and then will make the final changes.

I received an email the other day asking me what was the difference between the downloadable patterns I sell and the physical patterns I am doing. The difference is the downloadable patterns on my site, You Can Make This, my etsy shop and AllBrands is they are a pdf ebook which you print on regular paper including pattern pages and I show you how to lay them side by side, tape and cut for a full pattern. Some of my beginning patterns still have a photo for almost every step which the beginners love! Now for the physical patterns, these are patterns that are being distributed to quilt shops, fabric shops, etc..... These patterns are on tissue paper like you would see in a store with new graphics. The graphics are drawn and not an actual photo but I have tried very hard to still have a graphic for almost every step. And I am always available for anyone via email if you have a question while sewing whether you purchase a downloadable pattern or a physical pattern. The other difference is the pricing. The downloadable prices are $9.95 each with many pattern collection options. The physical patterns you will find online or in stores are $12.50. All of my patterns are designed with the beginner in mind and for the last several years that is the majority of my customers: first time Mommy sewers or very beginner Mommy sewers..... along with some awesome GrandMoms and Aunts too :) Also, on my sidebar I listed where to purchase the downloadable patterns and a list where you can buy the physical patterns. If you are selling SewSensible physical patterns and you would like to be listed, please send me an email and I will gladly add you to the list.

Now take a look at this awesome Mommy creation I received this weekend!!

"Thanks for such easy patterns." J

"Hello Aimee', Just bought a second of your patterns this morning, the first was great, thought I'd send you a photo of my niece wearing the dress and trousers. Being a bit of a tom boy she's reluctant to wear dresses, but the trousers tempted her. Got to make a bigger one for my daughter now. Thanks." J

"Aimee, I haven't been sewing long, but I love it. After I recieved the patterns, I got busy. I wanted to send you some pictures of what I have made over the weekend. The pictures aren't that great due to the fact that I took them with my phone. My daughter who is 18 months was not happy about the pictures either. She wanted to run around in her outfit saying, "pretty, pretty". Thank you! I can't wait to get busy on more. Your patterns make everything so easy."T

Ok, did you enjoy all the beautiful models and awesome custom outfits!!?? I know I did!!!!! This is a busy week as I am sure for most of you too! First days of school for two of our children. This year I will be going to 4 different schools which equates to 8 different stops per day..... it's a lot but I refuse to do any complaining about being in the car 4 hours a day!! I am going to concentrate on my blessings instead and thank Him for even having these precious children to take to school!!

In between all the schools, I have been working every spare second on these physical pattern covers and on getting the next physical patterns ready. If you signed up to test the Scoop Neck Dress Top then please be patient. The covers and Twirl SKORT have my attention right now and all these CMYK color codes!! Wow..... brain overload at times!
And here are our two precious 6 year olds starting school this week! wow! where does the time go..... really!! They are loving school but I miss them so much during the day!

I pray all of you have a blessed tomorrow and weekend!

In Christ, Aimee'

Revising Scoop Neck Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

I was on brain overload today! If you are following me on Twitter you already knew that! I have some decisions to make with the physical patterns and the covers and then I was busy revising SewSensible Scoop Neck Dress Top which made for too much for the mind today. Good thing I have many children to help me focus on other things. Here is a picture of me testing the long sleeves which I obviously made too long :) and I am adding a tie to be tied in the front. Believe me I tried it several ways and I really loved this look the most. I can definitely see Christmas dresses from this pattern this year!! And for all you new sewers, you will love this sleeve pattern! Simple, easy and looks great! I will also be adding an otpional ruffle at the bottom.

About the decisions I am making, I was asked why I do not offer the Boutique Dress Top and Bottoms as one pattern but after talking to another pattern designer I have decided to take her advice and offer one piece per pattern. The reason is because my Boutique Bottoms are a staple for almost every Dress Top I design not just the Boutique Dress Top. So can't think about that anymore tonight. It literally consumed me today.

Thank you all that emailed and left comments to test this pattern. If you did not give me your email, please send it to me. I want to add the long sleeve pattern to the test so I will not be sending out to testers until next week..... probably towards the end of next week. I will email you to see if you are still interested.

Scoop Neck Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

I woke up at 4a this morning with this Scoop Neck Dress Top on my mind. I got up while the house was nice and quiet, poured me a cup of delicious Community Coffee and got busy drawing the new graphics to this pattern. I did add some changes. I added a tie in the back and an optional ruffle for the bottom of the dress. I will also be adding the option for long sleeves but I have not done that yet. However, I am looking for some testers to test the new graphics and optional ruffle. If you are interested, please leave a comment on this post or email me at sewsensible@sewsensible.net. I would love to have some beginners and seasoned sewers. My goal is to get it tested in each size twice so that means I need 8 testers. The sizes are 6m-9m, 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. When you leave a comment or email, please state the size you would like to test. I will be contacting all testers by Monday or Tuesday night.
