Child Peasant Dress and Women's Dress Top Sew Pattern in the making

Well I am sewing :)  Seriously, I think I got more sewing patterns accomplished when I had all little children home than I do now. I am sewing but finding the time to draw the graphics for the directions is the challenge.  Above is a simple peasant dress I am donating to the 2012 Faces of Hope Gala and Silent Auction for www.traffickinghope.orgTrafficking Hope’s focus is to promote public awareness and to provide safe housing for victims of human trafficking. I will be donating two dresses to this awesome event!  I'll finish the second one tomorrow.  It would have actually been finished today BUT I got side-tracked with drawing a women's top I saw on someone and the end result is the picture below.  This is the first top that I have sewn for me that I actually love!  If I can get around to drawing graphics I hope to make this my first woman pattern! Yay!  (but please don't hold your breath :) Hope all is well with y'all!  In Christ, Aimee'

New Spring Dress Sewing Pattern!

I have been working on two Spring dress patterns (along with visiting our local garden center and purchasing some cucumber, squash, zuchinni, tomato, pear, cantelope, cilantro, and mint plants for our Spring garden).  I am designing the dresses as simple as possible for you beginners!  Here is a quick picture of one.  This is a size 6.  Grace turned 7 (I can't believe 7 already)!!  This ended up being her birthday dress.  It was such a dainty fit and she looked beautiful in it.  This dress is already designed up to size 10 and I am hoping to add a few more sizes to reach the teens.  I am listening to all those emails from Moms who want bigger sizes.  My new patterns will have bigger sizes :)  I have not tested sizes 6months -4 yet.  I will be doing that next week.  I pray all of you have a very blessed week!

Beginner Boutique Bottoms Capris!

Here is an awesome Mommy creation!! Just so cute! It gets me so excited to receive emails like this. I know that joy after sewing something for my daughters! I love when I am a part of others happiness. Such a blessing. Thank you, K, for taking your time to send me this and for your kind words. Your daughter is precious and her new Boutique Bottoms are so cute!

Here is what K said, "I purchased your boutique dress top and bottoms a while back. I put sewing aside for a while because of lack of time and space. I was looking through files on my computer and found it recently. My daughter was so excited and wanted me to make her a pair of pants...so much so that she was decided she wanted to spend a little of her birthday money on some fabric that she picked out. Tonight I made the bottoms for the first time. They turned out so stinking cute! She danced around the house for the longest time. :- I could barely get her to stand still long enough to take her picture. Needless to say, I will be making these again and will likely be making a pair for her 3 little friends too! :- Thank you for providing such a user friendly pattern. Many blessings to you!" - K

Below is the pattern collection she purchased to make these bottoms. This is a great first pattern to use if you are a BEGINNER SEW-ER. You can find a Two pattern collection for $15.95 on my Etsy shop or Website or You can purchase the Boutique Bottoms as a single purchase for $9.95. I also have a Physical Version of these bottoms along with the Faith Double Layer Dress Top for $11.50 which can be purchased from my Etsy shop or may be at your local fabric store.

Market Tote Sew Tutorial

I am working on a very simple Beginner's Market Tote sewing tutorial. This is something quick to make for beginner's while building your confidence as you are learning to sew! Remember, beginner sewers, allow yourself to make mistakes and not get so frustrated. I can't stress how the times I made mistakes (and there were lots!!!!! and I still do) are the very times I learned something new or learned how to do it better. Keep going! You are doing great!!

This particular tote is not only a great take along to your favorite farmer's market but could also be a great tote to make for your next beach trip. You could also use this easy tutorial to teach your daughter to sew. There is nothing like sharing your love of sewing with your loved ones :) This tutorial should be up by the end of the week.

Padded Laptop Sleeve Bag Sew Pattern, iPad and Kindle Bag option

I am working on this padded laptop bag sewing pattern. There will be options for an eReader bag or an iPad bag along with a short handle like you see above or a long shoulder strap. I am designing it for the beginner so do not let the zipper fool you or should I say scare you. I promise you can do this!! Wait..... did I just promise this!!? Well, that's how sure I am that you can do this and look how great it turns out! I will also make dimensions for a bible cover as well.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful January day! I am in Louisiana and it is in the 70s today and breezy. Love it!

Padded Laptop Bag Sleeve Purse

Laptop Bag

I am working on a Padded Laptop Bag which will also be an eReader bag/sleeve, and an iPad bag/sleeve. I am really not sure whether to call it a bag, purse, sleeve, or satchel. The one above fits a 10"x15" laptop. I decided to purchase some of the hardware from local harware store for customers who do not have a local hobby craft store in their area. The O-rings were perfect (Home Depot or Lowe's) versus the D-rings that are usually used for purses. So either would look great. The swivel clasps are at Home Depot or Lowe's. The padding was on the insulation aisle. There are several more padding options I will try but this worked just great.

I was able to use this particular laptop bag at two meetings already the compliments were awesome! As always, I am designing with the beginner in mind. Don't let that zipper fool you! It was a cinch and I did not use a zipper foot at all. BUT if the zipper scares you (which it should not :) you will be able to leave the zipper out. It will also have a short handle option or a long strap option.

Hope all is well with you. The weather has been in the 70's some days and then jumped to the 40's. We are back at 70's today..... Yay!
