It has already been sold. Just the cutest outfit. She coupled it with a cloth diaper cover and a custom applique on the cover! Just adorable, Keli! Thanks for blessing me with these pictures!

Maria's Memorial Service

As many of you know , Tommy and I have eight children. Six of our eight children are God's gifts to us through adoption and two are God's gifts to us by birth. Last week Stephen Curtis Chapman and Mary Beth, who have adopted three of their daughters from China, lost their youngest daughter Maria. She was accidentally run over in their family driveway. No words can be said to comprehend this loss. It has affected MANY! It has truly affected me. I just could not write a new post without first writing that our family is holding up the Chapman's up to our Lord for His strength during this time! If you have been affected by this loss and want to get an update on the amazing love of people that have come forth to embrace this family then I encourage you to read the words of Jim Ponder who so graciously have kept us updated. Thank you, Jim, for this!

New Sewing Pattern!

I believe this will be my next sewing pattern! I have several I have drawn on paper and made some testers but this is the only one I have to make a few small adjustments! It is a lined dress top. Here is a picture of it. I have not named it yet. This is one of two I am making for my twin Granddaughters who will turn 1 in June! I believe I will also make some bottoms to match! This would look awesome with a fabric flower top center! Very simple to sew!

side note: pictures without models are sometimes deceiving.....this dress top is double layered so your child's belly will not be showing. The second panel behind the ruffled panels is the lining that covers the belly! :)

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top!

Here is sweet little T again! This time Mommy's custom creation was with SewSensible's FAITH Double Layer Dress Top! Cute cute!! Here is what this Mommy said, "Hi Aimee, I sewed this faith top for T last night. I love this pattern it was so easy!!! I'm going to make a matching pair of pants. I can't wait to make more of these top/dresses... I'm loving your pattern's, I never sewed so much in my life and I'm loving it, you've created a monster...I can't stop sewing."

Thanks, D, again for these blessings! I have the sewing bug too! We have a family reunion in June so I am sewing my three younger daughters matching outfits. I have also started my next sewing pattern! I will post today!

Also, my friend Nanoo Designs has her new Emily Dress sewing pattern available! A very beautiful dress! You can check it out here on her blog! Or visit You Can Make This! where it is now available or her Etsy shop!

All in One Romper Sewing Pattern!

Here is an awesome Mommy creation using SewSensible's All in One Romper sewing pattern! We've seen this beautiful princess before and I knew she would look cute in anything she wore!! Here is what this Mommy had to say, "Great pattern, I love it!!!"

Thanks so much, D, for blessing me today with these pictures!! I love the one with her sucking her thumb!! That picture reminds me that no matter how old they act they are still our babies! Love it!

All in One Note: Pattern for size 5/6 comes right below the knee however the other sizes are capri length. This pattern and Boutique Bottoms are easy to customize into shorts, capris, or pants. This goes for SewSensible Boutique Bottoms as well. Just measure desired length, then minus the ruffle length and you have the total length.

Knitters and Knitting!

I have to say that I do not knit! If I had the time I probably could really enjoy it. Anyway, our family has a passion for orphans and adoption. This is just some FYI for any knitters that may come across my sewing blog! RED SCARF PROJECT! it is a great Charitable Knitting Initiative that Provides Warmth and Encouragement to Foster Youth! This month is National Foster Care Month so you may be interested in giving to a child who has no permanent home or Mom or Dad that has been there for them! The site gives you guidelines, resources, and patterns for the scarves!

All in One Romper and FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Patterns!

Here is my niece in her All in One! Isn't she just adorable!! Thank you, Jill, for blessing me with this picture! I made this for her last year but it was way too big. This year it fits her alot better. I had added an "m" applique but it could have been positioned a little higher! The All in One is a perfect canvas for a custom applique or embroidery design! YCMT now has a sister site SWAK Embroidery! There are some free embroidery designs for signing up for their newsletter!

And below is my friend's precious daughter wearing a Mommy custom creation using SewSensible's FAITH sewing pattern! Thank you, Melodye, for blessing me with this picture and HC is a little princess!

HOPE JOY Bubble Top Sewing Pattern!

I just love the way the internet can connect people from USA to Germany! Hello, Bani!! Bani is the first customer to show off her HOPE JOY Bubble Top and she just bought the pattern yesterday! Wow, Bani!! What an awesome custom creation! Bani made this for a friend of hers! Bani, your friend will be absolutely adorable! This Bubble Top is an awesome alternative for the Twirl SKORT or Twirl Skirt, a pair of Boutique Bottoms, or with the summer right around the corner, you could also make a pair of ruffled shorts!

Here is what Bani said, "Hi,i bought your wonderful Bubble Top Ebook yesterday. Since it is so sweet, I could not wait and had to sew it last night :)I'm so impressed, how cute it is and how easy to follow your instructions were. It was a pleasure to sew the Bubble Top and I'm sure, it won't be my last SewSensible pattern :)"

Thank you for blessing me with this picture, Bani! And if anybody else wants to show off their Mommy, GrandMommy custom creation or it might be a gift for a friend like Bani did, then please email me a picture! I always love to see what you created!

FAITH Pattern Change

Hello! I have made a small change to FAITH'S Top Layer. If you purchased FAITH then the change will be on page 4 of the Top Layer pattern page. I basically made a curve in corners of the pattern. For the bigger sizes, you could see the point so obviously with the completed outfit. It reminded me of the Euro look but everytime I see it I can't stop looking at it.....so I changed it! It is a simple change, just look for the Top Layer and at the bottom right make a small curve up on page 4. I have a picture above. The change is the skinny pencil mark. I will be revising FAITH in the next couple of days so if you purchased FAITH you may email me for a revised copy!

HOPE JOY Bubble Top Sewing Pattern!

Beautiful pictures, adorable model, and gorgeous outfit by awesome Mommy Hays! You are a blessing!

First, Happy Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mother's!! I pray you had a very blessed day! And to all of you who may be going through infertility or a miscarriage or a failed adoption, I pray for God's strength for you today. I know the pain of infertility and miscarriage and how hard Mother's Day was for me but I also know that God has not forgotten you and hears your cries to be a Mom! Persevere and Praise Him because He is the multiplier of families! You can read my testimony here for encouragement as you go through another Mother's Day! Be encouraged! He does have a hope and a future planned for you! And today I know that those years of being infertile led me directly to two miracles: adoption and birth! Thank you, Lord! (I am actually eight months pregnant in the picture on our testimony.)

That leads me into the name of my newest pattern HOPE JOY. I'll make it short. After five years of infertility, after two gloriously miraculous adoptions, we found out we were pregnant. However, the joy was cut short when I miscarried during week six. I was confused and deeply heartbroken. I reached out to a lady in our church and she said that Tommy and I should pray and ask God what was the sex of the baby that we just lost and name our baby. I was just so deeply sad that I asked Tommy to do this. He did and God answered!! Tommy came to me the next day and held me and said, "Aimee', God answered my prayer. He said it was a girl and her name is Hope Joy. Hope because it brought hope to us that we got pregnant and hope to other couples who were experiencing infertility. And Joy because this baby (even though it was six weeks in my womb) brought tremendous Joy to us, our family, and our friends!" I cried and thought that is exactly the name I want for her! She was a blessing on so many levels and we don't have the answers as to why we miscarried but we do have Hope and Joy that God was in control and is in control of our family. So I celebrate by giving this sewing pattern her name. Now you know!

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern and my New Pattern!

Here is an awesome BEGINNER Mommy creation!! Here is what this Mommy said, "I made your all in one and the dress top (with a 3 ruffle bottom). VERY CUTE...! I just bought my machine so these were the 1st two outfits I have made. I don't have a photo of her in the all in one yet. Your patterns are great to follow!"

Wow!! K, you did an awesome job!! Thanks for blessing me with this picture and such kind words! Not only did she use my patterns but she also added more ruffles!! Great job!!

HOPE JOY Bubble Top is now available! I specifically designed this top to go with the Twirl SKORT but it would look great with the Boutique Bottoms as Capris, pants, or shorts! Let your imagination go wild!!

Also, I have added two new pattern collections HOPE JOY Two Pattern Collection that includes HOPE JOY and the Twirl SKORT. And the HOPE JOY Three Pattern Collection that includes HOPE JOY, the Twirl SKORT, and the Boutique Bottoms!

New Sewing Pattern Released!!

Praise God the problem is fixed!!!!! Can you believe it was as simple as I had put a little "t" in stead of a Capital "T" in the product section!! I'll take small problems like that anyday!

So HOPE JOY Bubble Top is now available at SewSensible and will be available at YCMT shortly. I have also added two pattern collections which include HOPE JOY. You will now see that if you press Boutique Sewing Patterns you will be directed to a page that has Individual Sewing Patterns and Pattern Collections. The two new pattern collection is a HOPE JOY Two Pattern Collection and a HOPE JOY Three Pattern Collection.

Please let me know if you have any problems downloading. After paypal purchase, wait a few seconds and paypal will provide the download link. If you miss this link, you will also receive an email with the links. If you have any questions about the pattern, please let me know! It is pretty simple! Also, feel free to send me your awesome Mommy and GrandMommy and Aunt creations!!

Below are from two awesome Mommies who tested my pattern. Thanks so much! Your models are precious!

NOTE: I changed the placement of the straps a couple of days ago. This is where you can really customize the look. If you make HOPE JOY and would rather your straps be closer to the neck or further from the neck, then you can make adjustments. The sizes I have are average so the best part about sewing is that you can customize the fit to your child! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

HOPE JOY Bubble Top Sewing Pattern!

Ok, I have to admit that the technology side to this business just frustrates me!! I don't know what I am doing so I am relying on others for help. It can be a little bit stressful especially with four children running around while you are trying to figure this out! With that said, I have been trying all morning to put my new pattern on my website along with two pattern collections. I apologize to you who have emailed me wondering when HOPE JOY will be available. As soon as I get this download corrected on my site, it will be ready which I am hoping is tonight! I will post as soon as it is ready!

Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

Here is a precious Mommy creation using SewSensible's Dress Top sewing pattern! Here is what this Mommy said, "Hey Aimee!I just wanted to send you an email and say THANK YOU!! I've only had my sewing machine a few weeks and I had NEVER sewn anything besides scraps in my life until I bought this pattern!! It was so simple and turned out really well. I made it in just a few hours! Thanks for taking the time to make these patterns so simple and yet still be so cute."

Thanks so much, C, for blessing me with these kind words and for these adorable pictures of your precious 10 month old!! This is why I do what I do!! I just love to hear how "newbie" sewing Moms are doing this! Congratulations for all that you are doing!! Isn't it so rewarding to see your children or grandchildren wear something you created! :)

Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!

Ok, after an intense orphan adoption summit, it was great to get this email from Beth when I got home!! Here is what Beth said and here is her precious Granddaughter in her awesome GrandMommy creation using SewSensible's Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!!

"Hi Aimee'...... I just had to post this latest outfit before I'm discovered by an 'Intervention Crew' who'll send me to the nearest Sew Sensible Rehab Center. Your patterns are so addictive and versatile I find myself spending a great deal of time each day thinking up new ways to use them....... hence my new creation..... Can-can Corset Cutie. The top is a reversible corset and the 'pantaloons' are your Boutique Bottoms pattern. My youngest granddaughter is 7 months old so I've made a tuck in the bottoms (right under the ruffle) where a thread can be clipped which will lengthen the bottoms about an inch as she grows. Thank you again for these wonderful patterns and your encouraging, fun website! God's richest blessings and favor, Beth

Thanks so much, Beth, for your email and these awesome pictures! Love what you did and your Granddaughter is so beautiful!! You will never know how truly refreshing this email was!!

SewSensible

Hello! I have missed SewSensible! For the past three days, Tommy and I have been at the 4th orphan adoption summit in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! I am sitting at the Tampa airport right now waiting for our delayed flight! I miss my children so much but the time with Tommy has been great. We are actually extremely tired. We literally have been in the summit since Thursday afternoon non stop. As some of you know, six of our eight children are adopted. Our passion is orphans and adoption so this summit was amazing for us and we are coming home with big dreams for the children in foster care and the children in orphanages. Anyway, I am also ready to release my next pattern which will hopefully be the beginning of next week. In the meantime, if any of you have a heart for the orphan then visit the Christian Alliance for Orphans! You will not regret it! Also, I will be speaking more about our plans on our orphan adoption blog "His Heart for Orphans".

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!

Ohhh, look at this sweet little baby!! S, thank you so much for blessing me with these pictures! This is an awesome Mommy creation using SewSensible's FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern and the Boutique Bottoms!

Here is what this Mommy said, "Dear Aimee, Thank for taking the time to make these patterns so easy. I just got back into sewing after 10 years of nothing. I finally have a little girl to practice on! Here's a picture of her in the Faith Double-layer top with boutique bottoms. She's 5 months so I'll have years of fun sewing!"

S, that is the time I started sewing for one of my daughters Grace! Our other two we did not receive until they were 22 months old from Peru so I did not get to dress them as babies! I am making up for the lost years though!! :)

OPTION TO BOUTIQUE BOTTOMS: Here is a great option to the Boutique Bottoms! I don't have the instructions in the eBook but if you are making an outfit using FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and the Boutique Bottoms then consider making a 2" band at the bottom of the legs instead of the ruffle! Of course, my plans are to add an addendum to the Boutique Bottoms in the future with this information. It is not that difficult and you might can google this to see how to do it. The Band on the Bottoms matches the FAITH Dress so well! The ruffles look cute with anything.....this is just another option!!
