SewSensible Colors and Sewing Pattern Covers!

I have been working on my covers for my physical patterns! When you are a one-woman show there is ALOT of learning that takes place!! I will tell more about my decision in another post because I don't want to say for sure until I am for sure!! (and if you are a distributor or wholesaler that purchased SewSensible Physical Patterns my plan is to send you the new covers to replace originals.) But here is what I have narrowed down so far: Consistency and my colors for SewSensible. I just can't get away from these colors because they just inspire me so much! More to come about this as I finalize my decision.

And I had to add a picture of when I was 39!! LOL Cannot believe I am having such a hard time with this birthday. I have always been a "celebrate your birthday months in advance" kind of girl!! Anyway, God has laid a vision on my heart for SewSensible and the other passionate areas of my life so I enter my 40's standing on Joshua 1:9 (which God laid in front of me the moment I sat to read His word yesterday morning! It was a God moment!! It was so spot on for me and how I was feeling!) And the great thing about this scripture is that it is a command! So I actually have no other choice but to obey it!! LOL So here I go.....

"I command you--be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Sewing Patterns for the Beginner to the Advanced Sewer!

"Hey Aimee!!! I just had to email you! I am brand new to sewing, literally, just started sewing a week and a half ago. I started with a skirt pattern with the help of my mother in law and quickly made two more on my own. I was looking around online for more patterns and came across your website. I just fell in love with your stuff and bought four patterns! I figured I would work my way up to being able to sew them. I went through and read the directions to the boutique dress top and pants and realized how easy they were and decided to jump right in! Your directions were fabulous and so easy to follow! I whipped out a top and pants yesterday! I attached a picture for you to see. I am hoping no one looks too closely because there were a few mistakes that I had to work on and I realized once I got my fabric and started that I probably should have started with a more basic fabric, but all in all I am happy with my first project! I dressed my 18 month old daughter in the outfit for a party today and got immediate compliments on her outfit and even more when I told them I made it myself. I have discovered a new love in sewing, I am a bit obsessed right now and look forward to using more of your patterns! Thank you!!!! K"

Yes, everybody, you do know this was a super exciting email to receive!! I so remember that feeling when I made my first sewing project! Thanks, K, for sharing such encouraging words. You will be amazed at how this will inspire others to jump into it as well! And believe me we all make mistakes while sewing!!!!! That is part of the learning process! Your daughter is absolutely beautiful and your outfit is fabulous!!

On another note, yesterday was the big 4-0 for me! And I do mean big! I have always been one of those people that starts celebrating my birthday months in advance!! Not so this year. This birthday was so deep and emotional and just.... well.... I didn't want to leave my 30's! I plan to sum it up on my family blog in the next couple days and share how God definitely showed up and held my hand as I made this leap! Really! It was a leap for me!! HA!

Twirl SKORT Sewing Pattern!

"Aimee, I LOVE this pattern. It was so fun to make....." L

Ok is this toooo cute!!!!! Too too cute!! One of the next four patterns I am transitioning to a physical pattern is the Twirl SKORT. I have some testers trying out the new graphics and this was the first one I received back. She made a size 1-2. Love it! I know it has to be that she is wearing just the skort and not a shirt! Just looks so sweet!! And the SKORT was sewn up perfectly! This was one of my first designs and I still love it just as much today as two years ago. My girls love to wear their Twirl SKORTS and I love that they can jump on the trampoline, ride their bikes, and swing high on their playyard and not show any undies!! Love it! Thanks, L, for testing and sending in these pictures!!

Women's Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

Yes, I am still working on the Women's Dress Top! I wore the original one I made, the reversible one, all day to our family movie day and it just was not comfortable. Ok, I live in Louisiana and it is hot and stuffy now and the original reversible summer dress top did not make it any cooler. It actually was hotter. I believe it was the reversible part so this one you see in the picture is a revised one. It is not reversible. I also changed the back a little but I think I may try another change to the back. I wore this one yesterday during me and Tommy's date day (thank you, Mom, for letting us do this and watching the children!) Now this one was a lot comfortable and cooler to wear. I even had one lady stop me and tell me how much she liked my shirt. Yay!! always makes a "sewer" feel good!!

Reality, this top is no where near being a sellable pattern yet. I am so busy on transitioning my patterns to physical that this one will have to wait a bit longer. It looks like it will be a dress top for next year?? I'll have to see. The fabric above is Jennifer Paganelli's. I love her animal print paired with any of her fabric!

Tommy took this picture above while we were looking at fruit trees at Home Depot. I look stiff as a board and like I responded to Tommy yelling "ATTENTION!" He didn't of course but it surely looks like that! The sun was also directly in my eyes but at least you get to see it on! :)

Physical Pattern Status:
I have posted on my side bar places to purchase SewSensible physical patterns. FAITH Double Layer Dress Top is the new version with a simpler pattern but the same cute look. I have not made it available for download yet just physical. I am also working on transitioning the next four: Twirl SKORT, Reversible Pleated Dress Top, and Tween Teen Boutique Dress Top and Bottoms. These four should be ready in the next 45 days. If you are interested in carrying SewSensible Children's Boutique Sewing Patterns, please email me and I will send you the details. sewsensible@sewsensible.net

Women's Dress Top Sewing Pattern, New Sewing Pattern, and a get together!

Last week we had our quarterly Adoption Support Group Fellowship at our home. These times together are so awesome! It is great to do life with and connect with other families that have chosen to walk the path of adoption. It is my heart! If interested, you can go here to our orphan adoption blog and see the rest of our day!

One side's view!
(if you look close you can see where I went off a bit on the middle band!)

Reversible side's view!

So I made me another Reversible Women's Dress Top! I used different fabrics as to utilize my "scrap" bag!! I actually wore this to our family movie day to see Ice Age 3. This was the second time I wore something I made for myself in public! The first time was when I was in college! So much fun!

Also, SewSensible Reversible Pleated Dress Top is now available on YCMT! So if you are interested in purchasing my new sewing pattern you can purchase it at my website, my etsy store, YCMT, or at AllBrands!

New Sewing Pattern: Ava Sundress Pattern!

My friend, Nanette, from Nanoo Designs has a new sundress pattern! Go to her blog to see some cute cute tester photos!

Description:
You are going to love how easy this pattern is to make. It's a perfect little dress for everyday play, the beach, birthday parties and special occasions. Adding the optional bow at the back gives it a "boutique" look. Make it unique by mixing and matching fabrics, adding an applique or embroidery design to the front, trim along the border or just plain. Great for warm summer days like we are having here in Louisiana or with a top underneath for cooler seasons.

And my new one is available: SewSensible Reversible Pleated Dress Top sewing pattern! You will love the no handsewing technique to make it reversible!!
