New Sewing Pattern coming soon!

front

back

I just finished the directions and cover dress for SewSensible Simple Sunday Dress! So for all you beginners, I hope you are ready!! You will be amazed at just how simple this dress is to make and how cute it turns out! I decided to use Jennifer Paganelli's fabric for the dress. One thing I like about Jennifer's fabric designs is a subtle color I don't expect (in a good way!) This particular fabric has some soft lavender/purple in the flowers so that is why I chose the light purple polka dot fabric for the bow. I also used the same fabric for the whole dress but as you saw in my previous one, you can change it up with so many cute coordinating fabrics.

Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms!

Now how adorable is this little girl!! Her awesome Mommy sent this to me tonight. Here is what she said, "... wanted you to see a picture of the outfit that I made for my 3-year-old. I am addicted now and have THREE more outfits cut and ready to make, lol. Hope you like it. A loves it so much that she slept in it for a few days and that says something for her! Blessings."

C, thanks so much for taking your time to send this picture! What a blessing it was to receive it and I love it! Your little girl is just so sweet and adorable looking and your outfit is precious! Great job!!

New Sewing Pattern testing phase!

This is what I am doing today along with running here and there as children have needs you know when one is trying to sew!! LOL The picture above is each size bodice about to be cut out and tested. I had to redraw each neckline for a better fit.

Also, I am excited to point you in a new etsy store direction! Haysie-Doodle! Hays is a great sewing friend of mine I met through SewSensible. She is actually one who has tested several of my patterns when I need a tester. She is MULTI talented!! Go check out her store when you have time and she does custom orders!

New Sewing Pattern with Bow!

Ok, now here is the original look to the Simple Sunday Dress! I think I may leave out the fabric flower option and leave the original dress design as is. Of course, you can get many free fabric flower tutorials on the net if you want that look! Anyway, here is the Simple Sunday Dress! I will continue the bodice testing today.

New Sewing Pattern with Fabric Flower!

So here is the fabric flower option for the Simple Sunday Dress. This flower may be a little big for this dress which is a size 1/2; however, I designed the dress so that the bow and flower will make a statement so that is why they both are big. I redrew the bodices last night and plan to test each one today.

Free Bow Sash!

Now who couldn't use a sash tutorial!! Just think about all the dresses and dress tops you could dress up with this sash! You Can Make This! has a free sash tutorial!

New Sewing Pattern Test pictures!

I was able to sew another test of the Simple Sunday Dress. I have made small changes to the sleeve ruffle part of the bodice. You can visibly see the changes to the sleeve ruffle if you look at the first dress and then the one of Grace. The one on Grace is before the change. Also, the one Grace has on was a size 3/4 but it was too big on her and actually fit Rose who is a size 5/6 so I will be making some size changes to the bodice's I have drawn out. The little green dress you see above is without the bow. My plans are to have the Simple Sunday Dress with a bow or optional fabric flower. I will be adding a fabric flower to the green dress above. This was originally a size 1/2. I am waiting for Grace to wake up from nap so I can try it on her and then I will know if that bodice size is getting changed. I also shortened the length on the green dress above for this test only because that was all the fabric I had. I may also have a band option for this dress as well. All in all, I love this dress! It is so simple to sew and as all my patterns, it is designed with the beginner in mind!

New Sewing Pattern test!

Here is another test of SewSensible Simple Sunday Dress! I made a small change to the sleeve ruffle from the last test and am going to make one more small change to the sleeve ruffle for the next test. All in all I just love this dress and how simple it comes together. I cut it out this morning and sewed this one during naptime. I had some grosgrain ribbon so used that for the bow ties but I think I really rather the fabric bow ties. This one is a size 3,4 but is just the right size to last a couple of years through some growth spurts!

Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern and Lollipop Embroidery Applique'

Well, I was able to finish the Christmas outfits for our family friend's daughter and we were able to visit them today as well! Rose so graciously and happily modeled the outfit for the camera. (And now I see I rushed and tied the bow in the back). I used the Sweet Cupcake Applique Design from SWAK and added Sweet Girl to it and the bottom picture is a pair of Boutique Bottoms with two applique' tees. One has SewSensible Embroidery Lollipop Design and the other has SWAK's I Love U design.

This week I will be working on the Simple Sunday Dress and another pattern that is just as simple! I hope to have a picture of that one by the end of the week but no promises there. Now that I get to cross off the Christmas outfits from my list, I can go to the next project on the list! I am finally getting into 2009 projects and am able to think about all the cute fabric I purchased in the beginning of the year for 2009. One of those exciting purchases was 15 yards of Jennifer Paganelli's Cindy from her Mod Girls collection. I can't wait to use this fabric!!

New Sewing Pattern!

front

back

Today I tested the Simple Sunday Dress! I really like this dress. It definitely has a different look and feel than my other ones but is still very simple to sew!! I am going to make some changes to the sleeves making the ruffle slightly smaller and I will make a small change underneath the arm. I am also possibly going to add a band option however I need to test one with the band option to make sure I like it first. I did not hem the bottom yet for the dress above but it will have a 2" hem. Just a sweet dress (I think :)

I would have put the dress on one of my models but they are having lots of fun at GrandMother CC's which allowed me to actually test this dress today!

Wholesale order and Applique Apron Skirt sewing pattern

Here is what I have been doing..... filling a wholesale order! What a blessing! These are going to AllBrands! Don't forget they have some awesome fabric choices (60" width!!). I have also scheduled a sewing class on February 7th at AllBrands. If you are in Louisiana and would like to come to the class, you can contact their store for more details. We will be sewing a complete outfit: SewSensible Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms! I am looking forward to the class!

And I also received this super cute Mommy creation!! This awesome Mommy used SewSensible's Applique' Apron Skirt sewing pattern! She used Japanese prints and an adorable vintage baby squirrel design. Too cute!! Thanks so much, J, for sending this to me! Your daughter is just precious looking in her new Mommy creation!

And believe it or not, I still have one more Christmas outfit to sew!! I know, I surely did not plan well in 08. I have already started planning in 09 so this will not happen. The outfit that I need to sew is going to a friend's daughter and I found out we would not see them until after Christmas so I put it on my to do list!!

Have a blessed night!

Applique Apron Skirt sewing pattern, Boutique Dress Top and Bottoms sewing pattern, and FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern

Four awesome creations and two talented women!! The first two are some awesome creations using SewSensible's FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern! Love them!! Love the chocolate fabric the most!! When you have time, drop by her site, PurseNickity, for some pretty handmade Handbags!!

The last two are from my SewSensible friend, Hays!! Hey, Hays, do you mind if I use your name?? :) She is super talented as not only a seamstress but a violinist too!! Isn't it amazing the different people you get to meet on the internet! She has been such a blessing to me. Hays used SewSensible's Applique Apron Skirt without the applique and then she made an Amercan Doll one to match!! Too cute! I am looking forward to getting a copy of her dimensions and put it in the Apron Skirt ebook. Now that ought to be fun!

Thanks to both of you for sending in your creations!!

Applique Shirt and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!

Here is my sweet niece in her Boutique Bottoms and applique tee made with a SWAK design I made her for Christmas!! You can't see in this picture but Emma has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen!! Thanks so much, Jenny, for sending the pictures! She looks so cute!!

Also, AllBrands is having a SewSensible and Nanoo Designs sewing contest right now in January! What fun!! All outfits will be judged and in March, AllBrands will announce the winner. The winner will win an entire sewing pattern collection from SewSensible or Nanoo Children's Designs! If you want to participate, you must purchase one of our patterns from AllBrands either in their store or on their website! You can view them here or here. Also, they now have fabric!! And the best part about this fabric is that it is 60" instead of 45" so don't let the prices fool you. You actually get more fabric and they have some cute cute prints!!

New Sewing Pattern and Sewing Project!

Welcome, New Year!! I am excited about the New Year! Above is a picture of a sweet cupcake applique that will be part of an outfit for a family friend. The cupcake design can be found at SWAK and I added Sweet Girl! I am using SewSensible's Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns. I just love applique and the many ways I can create a custom look! (And remember, YouCanMakeThis has a great sewing machine applique for anybody who does not have an embroidery machine but wants to add applique to their custom creations.)

I am also ready to dive into my next sewing patterns. The first one I will be working on is SewSensible's Simple Sunday Dress. I am making this as simple as possible and will be doing changing and testing with this pattern this week. One of the first changes will be to make the tie bow not as big but it is supposed to make a statement as part of the dress. This pattern and the fabric I purchased for the cover reminds me of sweet innocent farm life, little children running is grass covered rolling meadows..... Simple and sweet!!
