Christmas Sewing Projects, Thanks, Happy New Year!

This is my precious Mother and wonderful husband! They are my best friends! Because of my Mom and my husband, I was able to get a lot accomplished in 2008 in reference to SewSensible! Mom, I love you so much. Thanks for ALL the encouraging words of wisdom you have poured into me and the times you have helped me with the children when I needed it with SewSensible! And, Tommy, thank you for helping me with a smile anytime I needed you especially those days and nights when I was completing a pattern. You are my gift from God! I love you!

And of course thanks to all of you who are reading this! Your comments, your emails, your kind words, your awesome custom creations have blessed me more than you probably know! Thank you!

This year the girl gifts were a pair of Boutique Bottoms with a matching applique tee! Of course I waited until the last minute and was sewing up until the 23rd to finish these gifts mainly because I was also still sewing for my three girls which I made them each an applique tee and at the last minute Asa wanted one too so that meant making him and Elijah one. Not next year! I have already ordered some of my fabric and will start planning for 2009 gifts early. I'll post about it and maybe some of you might want to start as early as I am planning. Now if you don't see some posts about gifts in the next couple of months please REMIND ME about this post!!!!! LOL

I also have two more outfits that I guess I did not take a picture of. They are cupcake applique outfits using SewSensible's Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms. Hopefully next year I will have some cute dolls to go along with the outfits! We will see!

And I have three sewing patterns on the drawing table and will dive into those as soon as 2009 begins. I also will be working on another free tutorial...... this one (if it comes out the way I am thinking) will be fun and so cute for our little girls! I pray all of you had a very blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!

Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern!

Here are my precious nieces in their Santa outfits I made them using SewSensible Boutique Bottoms and SWAK's applique stocking! Aren't they so cute and they are so sweet! The younger one, Annalyce, is only a few days younger than Elijah. It was such a blessing to be pregnant at the same time with my sister in law. It definitely was a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks, Jill, for sending me these pictures! They both look absolutely adorable!

And here is a cute Applique Apron Skirt that I received today. I have a feeling someone is planning a trip to Disney!! Great job, G, and love the band instead of the ruffle! Here is what this Mommy said, "Aimee, here is another applique apron skirt that I just finished up. I didn't use the ruffle on this one and am just as happy how this came out. THere are so many possibilities with this pattern."

Boutique Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns and FAITH Double Layer Dress sewing pattern, sewing projects!

Below are some awesome Mommy creations that I received a couple of days ago and am just getting around to post. Why does sickness decide to visit when it is the holidays!!?? My sweet little Elijah, our almost 2 year old, had rotovirus. Let me tell you, that is NOT a virus you want a child to have!! However, with 9 people in this house not one got the virus. That was only God! However, I now have four with fever. Zoë had 103 last night and Asa was right behind her. Then Rose got fever and then my wonderful husband came home from work looking ill and he ended up with 102 fever!! YUK! You can know I am walking around this house praying a hedge of protection for all of them and binding anymore sickness in this house!! Did I tell you I LOVE to pray!! More than that though I love to see God move and do the impossible! It excites me! I think what really excites me is believing something is going to happen when everything around me is telling me it will not and then watching God do it! So maybe that is a word for someone reading this today! You are believing for something whether for another family member, a relationship, or just something you have been asking God for a long time. Stand firm to Hebrews 11:1 and know God is in control! I LOVE that scripture!!

Ok, back to the awesome creations! This Mommy below used SewSensible's Boutique Dress Top and Bottoms Sewing Pattern and FAITH Double Layer Dress Top. I love them and am making some this week for Christmas presents! Great job, N!!

Here is what this awesome Mommy said, "Thank you so much for your beautiful patterns. I have bought three of them so far and all three have been SO easy! You are very talented. May God Bless you with a wonderful Christmas."

And this Mommy used SewSensible's Zoë Doll Embroidery Applique' Design along with SewSensible's Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern. Here is what this awesome Mommy said, "..... my little princess in her new shirt and boutique bottoms. I just love it and so does M. She keeps showing everyone the dolly on her shirt and she thinks pants with ruffles are for twirling." I love this, P!! She is so cute and her sweet outfit is adorable!"

Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern and Applique!

This is what I have been doing last night and this morning. Not because it takes long to sew these pants but because I have to work in spurts with all my sweet children around. I did the applique last night and finished the Boutique Bottoms this morning. The other day I finally organized my Christmas sewing projects. One year I used those $1-$2 white bins. I bought a bin for each child I sewed for and labeled the bin. I thought I would do the same thing this year but I never made it to the Dollar Store so I saw somewhere online someone using ziplock bags to organize their sewing projects. I had lots of those in the kitchen so that is how I am organizing my sewing projects this Christmas. Each bag gets a child's name with their sewing project inside. And my Mom actually suggested that I look into the hanging shoe bag organizer. If the pockets are big enough that might be a good way to organize sewing projects in 2009! I'll let you know!

Above is my nieces Santa picture outfits! Aren't they so cute!! LOL You can't see it but they each have their initial on the stocking applique'. The best part about these outfits other than I just love the way they look is the price I made them for. This year, just like all of us, we are on a budget. The red shirts were purchased at our local Wal mart for $2.50 and $3.50 a piece and the fabric was on sale for about $2.50 a yard online at Hancock fabrics. I used about a yard each for each bottom. So the total for one outfit was about $7.00 after shipping and a whopping total of $14.00 for both!! Now that is in our budget! And I'll be making a white applique shirt to match these bottoms so that they can where the Boutique Bottoms after Christmas as well!

I also finished one more of our daughters Christmas Chenille Scoop Neck Dress Top that I am making out of an old white chenille blanket. The cost of three Christmas dresses will be about $3.00 and that is the cost of the thread and the little bit of rick rack I am using to accent the bodice of each. WOW!! I am SEW excited about these "right on the budget" sewing projects!!

You too can be on budget this year with Christmas! Custom Creations are awesome Christmas gifts that are just absolutely adorable as well! And if you don't have an Embroidery Machine, YouCanMakeThis has some great sewing machine applique designs or you can just add a cute coordinating fabric yo yo flower to the shirt instead of an applique! Jennifer Paganelli has a great video tutorial on Country Living magazine for you! It is sew easy and free and you would be using your fabric scraps from your sewing project!! There are so many ideas. Another great idea is to use some of the leftover fabric and make a easy belt/tie that they wear high on the waist. It brings an ordinary shirt to the next level!! Ok, if you are using any of SewSensible Boutique Sewing Patterns for your holiday, please don't hesitate to send them to me! They are a blessing to receive and you will be helping others get inspired!!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top sewing pattern and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern

Here are two awesome Mommy custom creations that I think you will just love! They both used SewSensible's FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern. The two Moms tweaked their outfit some and it just looks awesome! The first Mommy added an apron! How cute is that!! Here is what this Mommy said, "I love your patterns! I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday back in July. I added the apron to the top. Thanks again for sharing all your great patterns. I just got the scoop neck dress and can't wait to try it! C"

And this awesome Mommy made her beautiful daughter a holiday outfit! Here is what this Mommy said, "Hi! I just wanted to share my latest creation. I used the Faith double layer dress top. The result: an extra special holiday outfit for my little princess! She was so proud to wear it to church today! Thank you for your wonderful patterns! It is so fun to be able to quickly create clothes to make my little one feel as special as she really is!! J"

SewSensible's Doll Embroidery Applique' Designs

SewSensible's Zoë Doll Embroidery Applique Design

SewSensible's Grace Doll Embroidery Applique' Design

SewSensible's Rose Doll Embroidery Applique' Design

Ok, I tested my Zoë Doll Design and she did great! I put a red applique' dress on her and if you look close you will see a sweet cross! Also, I just submitted my Grace Doll to SWAK so that should be available soon! She has a sweet heart on her dress. The picture of above makes it difficult to see the heart because I used a cherry print fabric for the applique'. Next time I will use a solid color for the dress. And I already have my Rose Doll available at SWAK. If you go here, you will see the Rose Doll Designs on some awesome pillows that a wonderful Mommy made!

I am also showing you my 2009 upcoming project: Doll Patterns! I just saw some new ones on YouCanMakeThis! so I decided to go ahead and post about it today. I did a test of the Grace Doll back in August or September and I have some changes to make. As I was making the doll, I saw my girls wearing a custom Mommy outfit with each of their namesake doll on the top and the same design on their sweet little purses while carrying their sweet little doll! I really hope I find time to make them all of this! Below you can see my design coming to life!! How exciting!
