Ok, I have been sewing up a new pattern. I took these pictures with my phone as you can tell! It is not what you think it is!!?? ;) I am working on the sizes now. I am excited that this will be for me!!..... and you!! I am excited to finally use all the beautiful fabric on something for me!! This will be a holiday pattern and of course I will use holiday fabric but for now I loved to use this Jennifer Paganelli fabric (the top and bottom picture). I will hopefully give more details in the coming days about this pattern but until then HOW EXCITING!!!!! (smile).
Look at this cute cute Fall outfit!!!!! Just such a sweet and adorable applique' shirt matched with a pair of Boutique Bottoms!! Love this look! And for all you who do not have an embroidery machine then head on over to
YouCanMakeThis! for some cute patterns for sewing machine applique'! And the best part of this outfit is you can do it for little money. The turtlenecks can be purchased for under $5 in some stores. I just purchased some long sleeve solid shirts from Children's Place for under $5. The Boutique Bottoms takes about a yard of fabric and a little more for size 5-6. And with the scraps from the Boutique Bottoms fabric you can make an adorable applique giving you a custom look for your loved one!! This outfit can easily be made for around $10!! Very economical and extremely rewarding!!!!! Let me know if you make any outfits this way and please send the pictures over here to get posted! They will inspire so many!! Aren't you inspired by this picture?!! I know I am!!
size 5-6 tester photo with elastic short sleeve option
size 6m-9m tester photo with elastic long sleeve option! There is also sleeve options

Simple Sunday Dress made by an amazing lady!!
Here are some more tester photos from the Revised Scoop Neck Dress Top sewing pattern!! I just love the long sleeve option! And if you are a new sewer and are fearful of sleeves DO NOT BE!!!!! I have made them very easy especially for the beginner!!!!! This pattern will be ready as a downloadable hopefully second week of November and as a physical pattern hopefully mid December!! I need to make a few changes to the length of the sleeves for some of the sizes and a few corrections the testers found!
I am getting some pictures back from testers who are testing the Revision of the Scoop Neck Dress Top with long/short sleeve options!! How cute are these!!!!!!!!!! I am still waiting on several more and am hoping to have this one ready as a downloadable in the beginning of November and as a physical in beginning of December!! I will be using this pattern for my girls' dresses for our family picture we are taking next weekend! I'll be sewing them beginning of next week! So excited about the revisions!!
Are you ready for a giveaway!!!!!?? I am hosting a giveaway at

Here is an awesome Mommy creation I had in my inbox since last May!!!!! How could I have overlooked this one!! I'll blame it on having eight children. It is an easy excuse for me but I know it can only work for so long LOL ;) This Mommy used SewSensible
Simple Sunday Dress sewing pattern and here is what this Mommy said,
"Hi, I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed working from your pattern instructions. I've not been sewing long and so everything was very easy to follow. I wanted to send you a couple photo's of the finished product. I actually changed the pattern just a bit (bigger bow in back and band at bottom ) :o) God Bless! Hope you enjoy the pictures! :o), T"
Thanks so much, T!! Yes, I am enjoying these pictures!! The dresses look beautiful and your girls are just adorable!! Thanks for letting me put this on my blog and so sorry I overlooked this one!!!!! I wonder if I missed some more! I really need to clean out that inbox!
Scoop Neck Dress Top Revisions: I am finished with the revisions and will be sending them to the testers on Sunday. As soon as I get feed back from the tester I will replace the original scoop neck dress top and also send this one to become my next physical pattern! Keep watching!!
Here is an awesome Mommy creation I received in my inbox last week and just a super sweet email to go along with it! She used SewSensible
Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern. Thanks so much, K, for taking time to send me that email and picture. It came at a good time and your precious daughter is just too cute and I love the bottoms!!
"I am so glad I stumbled upon your website this summer when I was just getting started! Thank you for making such wonderful patterns and for writing such clear and straightforward directions to go with them! I get so many compliments from my daughter's outfits that I made! People cannot believe that I just started sewing this summer! Thank you again for your wonderful patterns and for teaching me to sew!!!! K"
PHYSICAL PATTERN: This pattern is also available as a physical pattern with the new graphics and directions! See sidebar Boutique Shops that sell SewSensible Physical Patterns.
Do you remember this cute top?!! I still have it on the drawing board and will definitely be making women tops for next year. And meet my new friend! So all you who have dress forms, do you name her? Might just have to! What friend doesn't have a name?
Here is another
Scoop Neck Dress Top with short sleeve (no gathering). (Note: this is the revisions I am working on. They are not ready yet.) This dress was made for a family friend's daughter who reminded me for the past 6 months that she wanted a dress for her birthday! I was able to drop it off to her Mom and Dad yesterday and party is today! I was so excited she wanted one that much!! So here it is. She requested cheetah but I could not find a good cheetah fabric so this animal print worked fine for her! And then I got Grace to try it on and as you can tell she had the giggles! So cute!!
Right now Quilt Market is going on and I am definitely making plans to attend next year! I am such the underdog in the pattern industry but I plan to persevere and continue to swim my way through!! LOL If you want to follow the quilt market you can on twitter. Just search #quiltmarket and you will get some fun updates and the best pictures ever!!!!! Go to twitter.com and sign up for free and search #quiltmarket and you can start following all the ladies who are twittering from market in Houston. And please follow me too! Scoop Neck Dress Top with gathered sleeve option
Goal accomplished! Ok, well a goal I had several days ago but I did accomplish it finally today! I was finally able to sew a test of the Scoop Neck Dress Top with option of short gathered sleeves . Just a simple sew! The only thing I am looking at adding is possibly two loops for the side for the ties. I kind of like the way it hangs down when tied (you cannot tell from the picture); however, I noticed it may have bothered Grace when she tried on the dress. She will wear it to a birthday party on Saturday so I will know for sure whether I want to add loops or not. Other than that, I like the outcome! Hopefully it will be in the testers email by next Tuesday. This one is coming a little slower than I would have wanted but it is coming :)
Isn't she adorable!!!!! Here is an awesome Mommy creation using SewSensible
Simple Sunday Dress sewing pattern and here is what this Mommy said,
"I did it! I finished it today! This has got to be the sweetest little dress ever! The pattern, once again, so easy to follow. I love this pattern and will definitely be making more of these for S. Again, a million times over, thank you. Love and Light, H"
Thank you, H, for sending this to me!! Love to receive pictures of what you guys are making with SewSensible Children's Boutique Sewing Patterns!! Love the fabric you chose too!
Physical Patterns:
The Simple Sunday Dress is not a physical pattern yet. It is only downloadable at this time. I have just finished the directions for the revisions of the Scoop Neck Dress Top and will be drawing the pattern in the coming days and hopefully this can be sent to the testers early next week! All of SewSensible Patterns are designed with the beginner in mind. My lines are simple and my directions are clear and easy to read. If you are interested in carrying SewSensible Patterns, please contact me for more information or you may order wholesale from any of the distributors I have listed above this post. If you are a Boutique Shop/Fabric Quilt Shop and you carry SewSensible Patterns, I strongly suggest making a couple outfits with my patterns to hang in your shop. You will be amazed at how much better SewSensible patterns will sell. If you are a virtual store then I too suggest making some outfits to showcase on your site. The customer loves to see what others are making with a pattern before they purchase (but you probably already knew this ;)
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me and ask. Have a wonderfully blessed weekend!! In Christ, Aimee'
