Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

Here is an awesome creation that I enjoyed so much today!! Thank you, H, for this awesome picture!! And I agree with you..... it is priceless!! Too Cute! Here is what H said, "Aimee, after much prodding, I have agreed to sew my creations ON A VERY SMALL SCALE, so I needed to have photos of them on real live humans. Since I have a captive audience of 80 Suzuki families, I asked them to take some clothes home and have fun playing dress up! I thought you'd enjoy this photo of my friends. I used your boutique top and bottoms, although I used one of my grandmother's chenille bedspreads for the bottoms, so they don't have a ruffle. The tie pattern is also from the "You Can Make It website." I think this photo is just priceless."

Wow!! Wouldn't you like to have been one of those families to receive clothes to let your children play dress up!! What fun!! H is a woman with multiple talents. One of those talents is playing a musical instrument!! I am sure I do no justice by saying it so nonchallantly!! Sorry, H:) You are a blessing to me and thank you for sending in this picture! Oh, and I was given a chenille bedspread not too long ago by my Mother-in-law. I am still trying to figure out which pattern I want to use. I can't wait to see the results! Yours is adorable!

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

Wow!! Again, do you want to know what blesses me? Emails and pictures from you!! I cannot stress enough how the emails and pictures I get of your Mommy and GrandMommy and Aunt creations tremendously bless me!! Here is an awesome Mommy creation all the way from across the world from where I live! She used SewSensible's Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern. Here is what this Mommy said, "Aimee, I love your patterns! The Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms are so easy to make I've been suggesting them to all new or wannabe sewers who comment on her outfits. Thursday at MOPS all the moms wanted to know where I got her Oz outfit. They couldn't believe I made it. After hearing one to many times how they can't sew I started telling them how easy your patterns are not only because of detailed instructions, but pictures too. I told them I've tried and failed at store bought patterns, but these were so easy I've gone back for more."

"Here is my first Dress Top that started my passion to make more. Thank you for making your outfits so easy to sew that even I can put them together."

Ok, now WOW!! Thank you, J, for not only the pictures of your Mommy creations but for all the super kind words you wrote! Your outfits are beautiful and your daughter is adorable! Isn't it so much fun to watch your child wear something that you made!!? I find myself having to stop staring at my daughters so much when we go places! Mommies are so funny!! And what an awesome gift God has given us.....our children!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

Today I made two changes to FAITH. I decreased the width of the loops to 3"x9" instead of the 4"x9" and I added to the length of the straps. I changed the 6"x13" on fold to 6"x18" on fold or 6"x36". This was the original dimensions I had and changed them at the last minute but after looking at it again, my personal preference is a thinner loop and longer straps.

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

I pray all of you had a blessed Easter! Ours was terrific! We celebrated His rising at my inlaws home. It was very windy off the Mississippi so it required some jackets! We enjoyed Jambalaya, White Beans, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Fresh Corn on the Cob, Mac/Cheese, Chocolate Cake, German Chocolate Cake, and Egg Nests! All of our children were together which made it extra special along with my two beautiful Grandbabies! What a blessing of a day! And then I was blessed by some of you with these Custom Mommy Creations I opened in my email this morning!! And I have to say that one of these Mommies is a BEGINNER!!!!! Hats off to the two of you and what an awesome job the two of you did!!!!!

Here is what this Mommy said, "Aimee~ Thanks so much for your easy to follow instructions! I have never successfully made anything using a pattern before. I am rather pattern illiterate and all those tissue paper pieces tend to make me break out in a sweat so I make all of A's clothes from designs I draft myself. Yours were amazingly easy and a lot of fun to sew!! Here is a picture of my princess(and her handsome brother) in her last minute Easter ensemble made using your patterns. This is a great design and I anticipate it fitting her through a couple of summers at least. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful God-given gift of design with others! May grace and joy in Christ Jesus abound to you!"

Thank you SO MUCH, C, for sending me this picture and for the super kind words!! I love the Amy Butler fabric you chose and your children SHINE!!!!!

And here is the other one, "Hi Aimee, Just wanted to send you a picture of the outfit I created for Easter. I received lots of ooohs and aaahs over this one, I told everyone about your site and that if I could make this anyone could (beginner sewer) . Anyway, thank you for your super cute patterns and how easy you designed them for us to make."

Thank you SO MUCH, M, for sending me this picture! I am truly blessed with both pictures. I love your fabric and your daughter is beautiful!

Please, if any of you have pictures of your Custom Creations, I would love to receive them! And thanks to all of you who send them in. I get SEW :) excited to see Mommies sew their princess an outfit!! I know, from my own experience, the awesome feeling to have your daughter or daughters wear "Mommy's creation" !!!!!

Boutique Easter Basket Sewing Pattern!

Here are two CUTE CUTE Boutique Easter Baskets from a beginner sewer who is a Mommy and an Aunt! This Mommy / Aunt made a Boutique Easter Basket for her daughter and her 5 month old niece! Thanks, P, for blessing me with this picture!! They are both adorable!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

It looks like a FAITH kind of Easter!! I am almost finished with Easter outfits and gifts! Three do not have elastic yet and I am sure I will wait to the VERY last minute to do this! Why do we do that!! :) The two green polka dot dresses are going to be gifts. I am going to try and see if I have time to drop them off and get a hot pink monogram Initial for the front of the dress! How cute is that going to look?! I had already made a pair of Boutique Bottoms for each of my girls last year so I will just pair that up with their FAITH Easter Dress.

Just a side note about FAITH: When you go to gather the top band, for a normal size toddler or child, you will not have bunches of gathering space. FAITH is designed to have that slightly gathered look at the top. I didn't like the way it looked with a heavy gathering space. However, if you want more gathering space then just make a one size bigger for your princess!

FAITH Sewing Pattern!

Today I started on Zoƫ's Easter Dress. I am using the bunny elephant owl ladybug fabric I had in another post! Anyway, while I was sewing this one, which is the FAITH Double Layer Dress Top, I decided to fold the loops differently and I believe it makes a much cleaner look to the back. Here are a couple of pictures. I have not added the elastic yet. I tried it on Rose and although it looks like a cleaner look on the hanger it seems it wouldn't make a difference which way you decided to fold the loop. It's up to you! I basically just folded them over where the two ends were on top of each other instead of side by side.

Ok, I am so excited to get my first FAITH Custom Creation!! Thank you so much, H, for sending this to me!! FAITH Sewing Pattern!

Well, FAITH is almost here! I thought I would have her ready tonight but I am making a few small changes. Size 6 months - 6 years will be ready this week. I will have sizes 7 years - 10 or 12 years sometime this month!

I really love this dress! I believe it is simpler to sew than my Dress Top sewing pattern and that one is pretty simple! So, again, this one will be great for a beginner sewer who has minimal sewing skills!

Why the name FAITH? If any of you know me or know about my testimony then you can easily guess why I chose FAITH as the name of this dress. If you do not know my testimony and you would like to read it then feel free to visit my family blog and click on our adoption testimony in the right side bar. The scripture behind the name is Hebrews 11:1

"What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see."

This is the scripture that I stood on during my years of infertility! This is the scripture I stand on now. I love it and I know the truth behind it. Every part of my life is because of this scripture: my husband, my children, my marriage, my family's future. Now you know! :)
