FAITH Sewing Pattern!

Well, FAITH is almost here! I thought I would have her ready tonight but I am making a few small changes. Size 6 months - 6 years will be ready this week. I will have sizes 7 years - 10 or 12 years sometime this month!

I really love this dress! I believe it is simpler to sew than my Dress Top sewing pattern and that one is pretty simple! So, again, this one will be great for a beginner sewer who has minimal sewing skills!

Why the name FAITH? If any of you know me or know about my testimony then you can easily guess why I chose FAITH as the name of this dress. If you do not know my testimony and you would like to read it then feel free to visit my family blog and click on our adoption testimony in the right side bar. The scripture behind the name is Hebrews 11:1

"What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see."

This is the scripture that I stood on during my years of infertility! This is the scripture I stand on now. I love it and I know the truth behind it. Every part of my life is because of this scripture: my husband, my children, my marriage, my family's future. Now you know! :)

Tutu and Tie Party!

The Tutu Tie Party was a hit!! It was such a sweet little party! The little princess' enjoyed their tutus and our little men who braved the girly Tutu party loved their ties! We had a ballerina dvd playing for the girls, they had some one on one and got their fingernails polished, they had some cherry chapstick and some lotion for their hands, rings, bracelets, tiaras, and necklaces!! What a FUN day!! Oh, and I gave the boys some GI Joe military men with parachutes to keep them busy while the girls were busy being..... girls!!

Ties by PatchworKids. This was a very easy and fast pattern to sew! I plan to make more of these for my little men!

Sewing Pattern Correction!

Boutique Easter Basket Sewing Pattern Correction:
It was brought to my attention yesterday that I stated the wrong yardage requirement for the Easter Basket stabilizer. I have that you need 1/2 yard but you will need a little under a yard. However, to be on the safe side and to allow for any accidental mistake, I would suggest purchasing one yard of the Extra Firm Peltex stabilizer!

Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern Correction:
Please make the following correction to the ruffle strip for the Boutique Bottoms. I have that you will cut two 6"X20" on fold but you will do better with two 6"X22" cut on the fold. This gives more gathering space. However, I normally cut all the way to the end just as not to waste any fabric!

Custom Boutique Easter Basket!

I was so inspired by K's last two Boutique Easter Baskets that I decided to try an applique like she did! When I sew, I sew for three at a time so applique is usually eliminated by me just because I like to keep it simple and finish all three outfits or sewing projects in one night. I had so much fun doing this basket with the bunny applique!! This Bunny will be traveling in the mail today. I'll post more about that in the coming days! K, yours are cuter, though!! :)

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top and Ruffled Jeans Sewing Patterns!

Here is another look at the upcoming FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern. I tried a smaller top band and I just rather the look of a 2" top band rather than a 1" top band, so I am going to stick with my original design! I will also offer a TWO Pattern Collection of FAITH and the Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns and another TWO Pattern Collection of FAITH and the Twirl SKORT sewing patterns.

I can just see this as a Disney trip outfit for the girls!!

New Sewing Pattern Coming Soon!

FAITH
Here is another sneak peak at my next dress top sewing pattern that will be coming soon: the FAITH Double Layer Dress Top. I have started working on the step by step instructions and have decided to start naming my patterns. The next three dresses will be Faith, Hope, and Love. I will be designing FAITH to go up to size 10. I have gotten several emails asking for bigger sizes. The reason I only have size 6m - 6 years is because that is the size of my younger children and it is so easy to call them to me to measure. My plan was to make bigger sizes as my children grew but your request has prompted me to begin now.

I have not written the description yet for FAITH but I will say it is an easy dress pattern that will be great for a sewing beginner! I hope to have everything finished in two weeks!

Karen Capri Set and My New Sewing Pattern!

Well, goal accomplished today!! I was able take pictures of Grace in Nanoo's new sewing pattern outfit, the Karen Capri and Halter Top Set! So cute an on Etsy! Grace and Rose really enjoy the "picture" attention from Mommy. And I really enjoy the blessing of getting to take my daughters pictures! Be sure to visit Nanoo and see all of her sewing patterns that are available. She also has custom dresses and outfits in her Etsy shop.

I was also able to start my next sewing pattern!! Here is a sneak peak below!! I have several ideas about some dresses and this was the one I chose to do first. I hope to have it ready in the next month. And it is also designed so that the sewing beginner can use it!

Tutu's and Ties!

Tutu's and Ties!! That is the theme of Grace's 3rd Birthday Party that will be in two weeks!! The ties because my sons will not be wearing the tutu! It will be a pink, Princess, Tutu and Tie Party! Girly, girly!

Last night I went to Nanoo's house for our monthly sewing night. I made this tutu which still needs elastic in the waistband, Nanoo finished her Messenger bag purse, and Dina completed her son's fleece blanket! I would have to say that through all the chit chat we actually got some sewing projects accomplished!! The menu was fried fish poboys, sour cream and onion chips, lots of fruit, and Boston Cream cupcakes. Yum!! Today I am working on my next sewing pattern dress and will be taking pictures of my girls in Nanoo's latest outfit, the Karen Capri and Halter Top, which will be available soon!

Back from Vacation and Awesome Customer Creation!

Well, we made it back from Walt Disney World yesterday! I did not post anything about the trip because we wanted the trip to be a surprise for our children.....and it was!! I made the girls a Mickey outfit using the Dress Top sewing pattern. I already had them a pair of pants using the Boutique Bottoms. As soon as I download the pictures, I will post some of them! Last Wednesday, my husband and I picked up the older children at school. When we came home he sat all the children on the couch. He had a video recorder in his hand. They were so confused at why they were picked up from school early and why was their "PaPa" recording their every move right now!! He told them the vacation surprise and they.................... said nothing!!!!! They all had a blank look of confusion on their faces!!!!! You have to understand that five of them are 6 and under and our sweet 6 year old is special needs and the youngest is 1 year old. Our two older children, evidently, could not believe we were telling the truth!! We looked at them again and explained with lots of excitement that we were going to see Mickey and all his friends!!!!!!! Then the laughter and jumping came forth!!!!!!!!!! They got up from the couch and jumped and screamed and laughed!!!!! It was a great moment!

Disney was great!! Alot of work with seven children but my Mom came along and my husband had each day planned out minute by minute!! We even stayed the Magic hours in Magic Kingdom on the third day until 1am!! We are slowly getting back into our routine. I have relisted my sewing patterns on ebay and will try to educate myself on building my SewSensible website!

And in the meantime, I came home to see this beautiful custom outfit made by an awesome customer in my email inbox!! And what a beautiful model!!!

My Sewing Pattern Website Coming Soon!

Hello! I am excited to say that I am venturing into my own website for SewSensible. This sewing blog began as a way to connect to other sewing Mommies and eventually worked itself into a small sewing pattern business! The website venture is exciting and at the same time a little stressful. Before becoming a Mommy, I had some good technology knowledge.....up to date and with the times!! WOW!! What happens to your brain cells when those sweet little kiddos enter your life!!!!! LOL I don't know if it is because we have eight of them or does this happen when you just have one or two!!

So during this move to a website, I can't say it has been super easy because it just has not been; however, I am getting some good help as I submit each "ticket" into my host site and Elaborique Studios, who designed my templates, is just the kindest person! I have really appreciated her kindness through this move! As of today, if you are interested in purchasing my sewing patterns do so at YouCanMakeThis! I have stopped my ebay listings until next week because I will be unavailable to send any patterns purchased from ebay or My Etsy until next week. With this new website, you will be able to purchase and get that instant download that is so appealing to purchasing digital items. I am looking forward to that feature!!

In the meantime, you can visit the new website but I warn you.....it is very much under construction!! Oh, and look forward to a new blog template to match my website!! To visit, click the banner above!

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms outfit!

I just received two of the cutest outfits made with the Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing patterns!! These are two sisters and they look so adorable! This Mommy added a double ruffle! What an awesome customer creation!!

Tana's Tutu Dress Sewing Pattern!

My friend, Nanoo Designs, has another terrific and cute dress sewing pattern that is available in her Etsy shop and soon to be available at YouCanMakeThis! This dress is not only very simple to sew but makes an absolutely CUTE dress!! It is similar to the Pillowcase dress. You can use matching ribbon for the ties or coordinating fabric. It is also lined AND comes with headband instructions! Nanette, my girls love their dresses and their headbands!!

Here is the description:
Tana Tutu Dress by Nanoo Designs is a fun sundress in 4 sizes (1-4) with two strap styles and instructions for a single or double tulle ruffle. Also included is a bonus section on how to make fabric headbands like the ones on the cover. There are 13 pages of instructions with 54 pictures for the dress and two pages of headband instructions with 22 pictures.

Visit her blog and see other sewing patterns she has created and designed!

Boutique Easter Basket Sewing Pattern!

Sister secrets!!

Boutique Easter Basket with Trim!

There are three size baskets to make for the Boutique Easter Basket. The sizes are 7"X7", 10"X10", and a 9"X9". The 7"X7" and the 9"X9" are the sturdiest of the three because I have made the sides higher. This is a picture of the 9"X9". I have added trim around the basket along with a bow! And that is Elijah's cute little finger trying to get the ball trim! I hope to make the girls an Easter outfit with a matching Boutique Easter Basket soon! I also plan to make my younger two sons one as well! I was thinking of Blue Camaflouge! Asa is really into camaflouge this year!! You can purchase the Boutique Easter Basket Sewing Pattern here on my sewing blog or on the following sites: YouCanMakeThis!, Ebay, or Etsy. All the links are on the side.
