COMING SOON!!!!!
My next sewing pattern!!

I am currently working on my next sewing pattern and I am very excited about this one!! Well, I have been excited about all of them but this one I find to be unique!! This week I tested my pattern and made a few changes to the dimensions. Yesterday, I tried the new dimensions and am satisfied with the look!! I plan to make the piece this weekend with my Amy Butler fabric I specifically purchased for this sewing pattern and use my Mother-in-law's camera because mine refuses to work! Thanks, Mom Trixie, for letting me borrow your camera!

Fleece Jacket

This weekend my daughter and my twin six month old granddaughters came over for our family picture. I had ordered some Cheetah print fleece fabric to make some jackets for my daughters and I knew I would have some fabric left over so Sunday while they were here I made them each a fleece jacket!

I have been busy sewing! I decided to use this pinafore dress pattern for all my girls' Christmas dresses and for my nieces. Here are my nieces dresses! They turned out so cute but they always look better on a model. I'll have to put a picture of all of them wearing them for their Christmas picture!

Twirls for Girls Toys for Tots

Tonight I was able to sew a cute little twirl skirt with the fabric extras I had for the Twirls for Girls campaign that You Can Make This is having for Toys for Tots! This was such a fun project! This was also my first time sewing a charm square project! Not only was I able to sew for such a great cause but I was able to do it with my daughters at my side!! It was an awesome Mommy/Daughter moment! And after I was finished, they thought it was for them to keep and held on to this little bear until they went to bed tonight! I guess I will have to make their dollies a twirl skirt!

Free Sewing Patterns for Twirls for Girls

Knowing that thousands of dolls are donated each year to the “Toys for Tots” foundation, the team at You Can Make This! wanted to create a place where people could freely download patterns and donate the finished projects to their local Toys for Tots units. Little girls love to receive a new doll, and being able to dress that new doll in sweet new clothes is even more fun! Click here to read more!

Sewing Pattern Feedback!

"I never would have believed that I could make something so cute in such a short time"

Now this is the reason I love making patterns!! I received this picture from a Mom who commented on one of my posts asking me if she thought someone with minimal sewing skills could use my patterns. I sent them to her and this is her creation she made for her beautiful daughter! WOW, just adorable!! Thanks for sending the picture, S!

She used the Dress Top Sewing Pattern along with the Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern.

Sewing Pattern eBooks!

My next two sewing pattern eBooks are submitted to YCMT! I am happy the way it came out. The Dress Top is so cute by itself or a peasant top or tutleneck underneath. This is the bottoms pattern I use for everything: shorts, pants, gauchos/capris, pajama bottoms! It can be used for both girls and boys, too! The fabric in the pictures are Amy Butler!

Sewing Pattern Done!

I have finally finished putting my All in One sewing pattern eBook on PDF!! A total of 53 pages and pages and pages of pictures. I am in the process of letting someone test it right now and then I will submit it to You Can Make This!! This has been a very fun project and more time consuming than I anticipated but well worth it! After you submit your manuscript, it takes about 2 weeks for it to be on the site!

Second one done!

The second skirt is done. Tonight I plan to finish the third one. I don't have time to applique something on the shirt so I will not be doing that for these outfits.

The Ballerina Skirt!

I got Grace to try on her ballerina skirt this morning and when I told her she could take it off she looked at me and said, "No, I want to wear it!" Yay!! That's what I like to hear after I make my girls something! It is so much fun to sew for them!!

Another All in One!

This is another All in One with an optional ruffle at the top and an initial applique. The applique should have been higher.

Skirt Sewing Project!

I am sewing my very first skirt! I had purchased some ballerina fabric a while back because Rose and Grace love ballerinas and tutus! I didn't really know if I was going to make a dress top with it or what. I have been wanting to make a skirt and decided that is what I was going to do! This was a harder and more time consuming project than I thought (Sorry to you, My Man! He was tending to the toddlers and baby while I sat determined at the table to finish a skirt!) but I did it and I am looking forward to making more skirts for my daughters! I now know "what not to do". I bought some white tees so that I can applique something on the front to match the skirt. I'll have to get one of the girls to try it on tomorrow so that I can take a picture!

All in One Pattern Cover!

Slowly but surely I am accomplishing the eBook project! This morning I finished the cover to the All in One pattern. My next step is to layout the step by step directions along with the step by step pictures. I hope to have this completed in the next three weeks. I am enjoying this so much! I also ordered the fabric that I will use for my next eBooks: my Dress Top Pattern with ruffle!, my Boutique Bottoms, and my Drawstring Purse/Tote! I'll keep you posted!

Outfits Completed!

This morning I completed my neices outfits! I used Nanette's Reversible Annette Dress pattern and my pants with ruffle pattern! I can't wait to see the outfits on Mia and Annalyce'.
I have eBook on the brain. I am in the process of putting my All in One together to make an eBook to submit to You Can Make This. I am excited about this endeavor!! I will keep you posted about how it is going!

Thanks, MOM!

front side view

back view

My Mom came over today to watch the toddlers while I started the eBook project on my All in One pattern I created! THANKS, MOM!! I am so excited about this new venture! This is a picture of the almost finished project. I still am going to make a head band to match the outfit and I think I am going to put a flower on the front.
Ok, so does anyone want to test my pattern. Nanette and Melodye, you're a given so you two need not respond. Anyone else out there. I am looking for one more person to try my pattern and critique it. Please leave a comment to let me know if you want to be a "tester". I should have it on a PDF file in the next two weeks!

Basic chenille baby bibs - tutorial

I saw Nanette from Nanoo Designs had a free tutorial on making a child's dress from Daddy's shirt! Great idea! As I was looking at that site I came across this tutorial for a chenille baby bib from Happy Things!

All in One with Ruffles!

I finally made one with ruffles! Cute Cute!!! You can definitely get more creative and add a coordinating fabric for the ruffle. This is actually a 5/6 size and my 4 year old is wearing it! It's all in the gathering of the back! This is one of those patterns that they can actually grow into and wear for a couple of years! Talk about sew sensible!! ha ha

All in One Shorts Style!

This is a better view of the back of the All in One made in a shorts style! Zoë was not excited about taking this photo! My sweet Zoë! This is a size 5/6.

White pant All in One!

Here is my All in One pattern again! The bows are a little too big for this size and I made this one as a pant all in one instead of a short/capri all in one with no ruffles. This pattern is so easy! I just need to fine tune a couple more details with the pattern and it is finished and ready for a PDF!! How exciting!!
(And "Buzz" had to be in the pics as well!!)

Almost There!

Almost there! In yestrday's post I said I would make my All in One outfit with a print fabric and some ruffles at the bottom of the pants leg.....I did neither! Too many children demanding too much of my time so I had to cut my sewing time short.....but that's Ok because they are the reason I sew anyway!

I really wanted to post a pic of a finished All in One with ruffles and flowers but I am so excited about this outfit that I just could not wait. I ended up using a very thin thin flannel that I had in a drawer. I was using too much of my good fabric. I am not quite done though, I have to perfect some more details with the pattern but I am happy the way it is turning out.
