Knowing that thousands of dolls are donated each year to the “Toys for Tots” foundation, the team at You Can Make This! wanted to create a place where people could freely download patterns and donate the finished projects to their local Toys for Tots units. Little girls love to receive a new doll, and being able to dress that new doll in sweet new clothes is even more fun! Click here to read more!

"I never would have believed that I could make something so cute in such a short time"
Now this is the reason I love making patterns!! I received this picture from a Mom who commented on one of my posts asking me if she thought someone with minimal sewing skills could use my patterns. I sent them to her and this is her creation she made for her beautiful daughter! WOW, just adorable!! Thanks for sending the picture, S!
She used the Dress Top Sewing Pattern along with the Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern.

My next two sewing pattern eBooks are submitted to YCMT! I am happy the way it came out. The Dress Top is so cute by itself or a peasant top or tutleneck underneath. This is the bottoms pattern I use for everything: shorts, pants, gauchos/capris, pajama bottoms! It can be used for both girls and boys, too! The fabric in the pictures are Amy Butler!

I have been working on my next two ePatterns this weekend! I have everything done except creating the PDF. I will be doing that today! I will be offering a Dress Top pattern or a Boutique Bottoms pattern which I use for all my children's bottoms whether for dressier outfits, lounge around pants, pajamas, shorts, or gauchos! This is my sweet daughter, Grace, modeling for me! It was her turn this time. She and Rose take turns! They do a great job! Grace looks so old in this picture!! They all are growing up so fast!

My Sewing Pattern All in One is submitted!! I am waiting for them to test the pattern and whatever else they need to do! I find myself checking my email everyday several times a day just to see if they emailed me back. (I just sent it in about 4 days ago!) I know, I know, I need some patience!!!!! haha You would think I would have some with eight children, huh!

I have finally finished putting my All in One sewing pattern eBook on PDF!! A total of 53 pages and pages and pages of pictures. I am in the process of letting someone test it right now and then I will submit it to You Can Make This!! This has been a very fun project and more time consuming than I anticipated but well worth it! After you submit your manuscript, it takes about 2 weeks for it to be on the site!

The second skirt is done. Tonight I plan to finish the third one. I don't have time to applique something on the shirt so I will not be doing that for these outfits.

I got Grace to try on her ballerina skirt this morning and when I told her she could take it off she looked at me and said, "No, I want to wear it!" Yay!! That's what I like to hear after I make my girls something! It is so much fun to sew for them!!

This is another All in One with an optional ruffle at the top and an initial applique. The applique should have been higher.

I am sewing my very first skirt! I had purchased some ballerina fabric a while back because Rose and Grace love ballerinas and tutus! I didn't really know if I was going to make a dress top with it or what. I have been wanting to make a skirt and decided that is what I was going to do! This was a harder and more time consuming project than I thought (Sorry to you, My Man! He was tending to the toddlers and baby while I sat determined at the table to finish a skirt!) but I did it and I am looking forward to making more skirts for my daughters! I now know "what not to do". I bought some white tees so that I can applique something on the front to match the skirt. I'll have to get one of the girls to try it on tomorrow so that I can take a picture!

Slowly but surely I am accomplishing the eBook project! This morning I finished the cover to the All in One pattern. My next step is to layout the step by step directions along with the step by step pictures. I hope to have this completed in the next three weeks. I am enjoying this so much! I also ordered the fabric that I will use for my next eBooks: my Dress Top Pattern with ruffle!, my Boutique Bottoms, and my Drawstring Purse/Tote! I'll keep you posted!

I finally made one with ruffles! Cute Cute!!! You can definitely get more creative and add a coordinating fabric for the ruffle. This is actually a 5/6 size and my 4 year old is wearing it! It's all in the gathering of the back! This is one of those patterns that they can actually grow into and wear for a couple of years! Talk about sew sensible!! ha ha
