Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Patterns!

To my surprise I found two princess' in my inbox just now!! :) What a blessing!! This has been a busy Mommy! Look at the awesome Custom Mommy Creations she made and the best part is that this Mommy just started sewing several months ago! WOW!!!!!

Here is what KK said, "I just wanted to thank you personally for ALL the great patterns you have put out. I have (so far) purchased 3 and they are so EASY and SIMPLE to follow. I JUST started sewing a few months ago and I already feel like a pro. Your patterns aren't intimidating at all and make me confident to try harder stuff. I haven't learned so much. Thanks again and keep them coming!"

KK, how excited I was to open these just now!! Beautiful work and your daughters are truly princess'! Thank you so much for the kind words!! You are a blessing!

Next Sewing Patterns!!

Ok, I have so many pattern ideas and definitely not enough time to get them finished in the time I want!! This is a sneak peak at my next sewing pattern! I know, I am still working on enlarging FAITH and some others but last night I finally figured out a cute cute top to go with the Twirl SKORT. I made one this morning while my smallest two decided that the elastic would make a great great toy to play with!! :) So during my cutting and sewing, I had Grace running around the table with elastic in hand as Elijah tried to get the end before it disappeared!!!!! Yes, it did get caught up in everything in its path! It wouldn't be a normal design sewing day without a little chaos at our home!

Anyway, this is my next one! It's only the first one I've done. I still have some more to test and tweak it a little but I already bought the cutest fabric for this one. I think you will be very happy with this one!

Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

I have met so many nice and kind people through SewSensible that I now call friends. Melanie is one of those blessings SewSensible has sent me (even if it is via blog and emails! :) Today I received these awesome pictures of an outfit she made her daughter using the Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern! Melanie, I love them!!!!! She shortened the length and instead of adding the ruffle she put a brown band around the bottom for trim. It really made the pants stand out! And your daughter is a little princess! Thank you so much for blessing me today!

Next Sewing Pattern

There are so many hats my husband and I wear that sometimes I have to step back and focus on one or two just to keep from feeling weighed down :) My husband and I lead an orphan adoption ministry at our church called "His Heart for Orphans". As some of you know, we have eight children. Six God blessed us through adoption and two He blessed us through birth. It is our passion to see orphans adopted and connect family and adoption resources together. Our next adoption workshop which we do four times a year is April 26 and then Tommy and I are going to attend the fifth orphan adoption summit May 1,2,3. So I have been focused on this the past week:)

Currently I have 3 dress designs that I have drawn on paper that I hope to start soon. However, my first priority is getting my current designs into bigger sizes! I am working on the making FAITH bigger. I have half of it drawn out. The "His Heart for Orphans" needs my focus at this moment but as soon as I finish what needs to be finished with that I will complete FAITH bigger sizes and then enlarge my Boutique Bottoms and I would like to enlarge my Twirl SKORT.

In the meantime, if you have a custom Mommy, GrandMommy, or Aunt creation to show off, please don't hesitate to email it to me!!

Twirl SKORT skirt Sewing Pattern!

Cute cute cute!!!!! Look how cute!! This is a blogging friend of mine, Leigh Ann, who created the most adorable Mommy creation for her little princess, Elle, using SewSensible's Twirl SKORT Sewing Pattern! Here is what this Mommy said, "I am in love with this pattern! Thank you so much!"

Thank you, Leigh Ann, for blessing me with these pictures! Elle is absolutely precious!! I love this pattern too! It just looks so cute on the little girls! And the best part is they can flip, turn, slide, ride bikes and never show their undies!

liftinghands.blogspot.com

Also Leigh Ann has some great blogs to read. One that is very important to me is the Lifting Hands blog she has where you can go and pray for your children! I put these prayers and scriptures on my family blog weekly and it is just a great source and important role I take as my children's Mom to war for my children and see victories in their life! Thank you so much for that blog, Leigh Ann! She is also known in the blog world as Momma Roar. Visit her blog from here!

Twirl SKORT skirt Sewing Pattern

Twirl SKORT Sewing Pattern

Just now while some of my children were taking naps, I received these cute cute pictures of a Mommy who made one of her daughters a custom Twirl SKORT!!!!! Ok, now I said this before and I will say it again, this is my favorite pattern I have created. I just love the way it looks on a child! Ok, I love all my patterns in some way but this one always excites me!

And here is what this Mommy said, "I can't believe I actually made this (and it has ruffles)! I gave up on sewing clothes when my oldest daughter was a toddler because I couldn't seem to make anything fit. I can't wait til my (sewing) friends at church see this tonight. When I showed them the picture in your pattern, they were all like "umm... ok, let me know how it goes". They'll be so proud of me. Thanks for making your patterns so easy and fun. I'm officially addicted...keep 'em coming! Blessings"

Wow!! Thank you, P, for these pictures and thank you so much for these kind words!! Your children are beautiful!! What a blessing! I am SEW proud of you as I am sure the readers of this blog are proud of you too!!!!! Let me know what your friends at church say!! :)

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top

Ok these pictures are EXTRA special to me because these are two of my adorable nieces! This is the Easter present I gave them yesterday using SewSensible's FAITH sewing pattern! I know, a little late. I was waiting on the monogram and well..... they put the initial lower than I asked and they didn't have the hot pink that would have looked better I believe and they didn't finish the A and small threads were all over the M. I'll just have to find another place or continue to beg my Mother to learn how to monogram with her new machine!! :) Now for my lack to detail: I made one size too small for my littlest niece, Annalyce, so I could not add the elastic! oops!! But after ALL that, they still look cute!!

Thanks, Jill, for sending me these pictures!!

OPTION FOR FAITH: You know you could actually just put the elastic in the back and monogram on the top band. That is one option! Instead of leaving a 1" opening in the back middle, you would leave a 1" opening on one side of the back and a 1" opening on the other side of the back with a estimated space between the two openings at 6".

Pattern Corrections

Twirl SKORT Sewing Pattern Correction:
I have received several emails inquiring about the length of the skirt pattern for sizes 3,4 and 5,6. I agree, you cannot see the pantaloon ruffle as much as you can the smaller sizes so I have changed the dimensions to the skirt pattern by one inch. Please make the following corrections: Size 3,4, change the skirt panel dimension from 9" to 8" for size 5,6 change the skirt panel dimension from 10" to 9". This should shorten the skirt enough to see the pantaloon ruffle! :)

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

Here is an awesome creation that I enjoyed so much today!! Thank you, H, for this awesome picture!! And I agree with you..... it is priceless!! Too Cute! Here is what H said, "Aimee, after much prodding, I have agreed to sew my creations ON A VERY SMALL SCALE, so I needed to have photos of them on real live humans. Since I have a captive audience of 80 Suzuki families, I asked them to take some clothes home and have fun playing dress up! I thought you'd enjoy this photo of my friends. I used your boutique top and bottoms, although I used one of my grandmother's chenille bedspreads for the bottoms, so they don't have a ruffle. The tie pattern is also from the "You Can Make It website." I think this photo is just priceless."

Wow!! Wouldn't you like to have been one of those families to receive clothes to let your children play dress up!! What fun!! H is a woman with multiple talents. One of those talents is playing a musical instrument!! I am sure I do no justice by saying it so nonchallantly!! Sorry, H:) You are a blessing to me and thank you for sending in this picture! Oh, and I was given a chenille bedspread not too long ago by my Mother-in-law. I am still trying to figure out which pattern I want to use. I can't wait to see the results! Yours is adorable!

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

Wow!! Again, do you want to know what blesses me? Emails and pictures from you!! I cannot stress enough how the emails and pictures I get of your Mommy and GrandMommy and Aunt creations tremendously bless me!! Here is an awesome Mommy creation all the way from across the world from where I live! She used SewSensible's Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms sewing pattern. Here is what this Mommy said, "Aimee, I love your patterns! The Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms are so easy to make I've been suggesting them to all new or wannabe sewers who comment on her outfits. Thursday at MOPS all the moms wanted to know where I got her Oz outfit. They couldn't believe I made it. After hearing one to many times how they can't sew I started telling them how easy your patterns are not only because of detailed instructions, but pictures too. I told them I've tried and failed at store bought patterns, but these were so easy I've gone back for more."

"Here is my first Dress Top that started my passion to make more. Thank you for making your outfits so easy to sew that even I can put them together."

Ok, now WOW!! Thank you, J, for not only the pictures of your Mommy creations but for all the super kind words you wrote! Your outfits are beautiful and your daughter is adorable! Isn't it so much fun to watch your child wear something that you made!!? I find myself having to stop staring at my daughters so much when we go places! Mommies are so funny!! And what an awesome gift God has given us.....our children!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

Today I made two changes to FAITH. I decreased the width of the loops to 3"x9" instead of the 4"x9" and I added to the length of the straps. I changed the 6"x13" on fold to 6"x18" on fold or 6"x36". This was the original dimensions I had and changed them at the last minute but after looking at it again, my personal preference is a thinner loop and longer straps.

Dress Top and Boutique Bottoms Sewing Pattern!

I pray all of you had a blessed Easter! Ours was terrific! We celebrated His rising at my inlaws home. It was very windy off the Mississippi so it required some jackets! We enjoyed Jambalaya, White Beans, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Fresh Corn on the Cob, Mac/Cheese, Chocolate Cake, German Chocolate Cake, and Egg Nests! All of our children were together which made it extra special along with my two beautiful Grandbabies! What a blessing of a day! And then I was blessed by some of you with these Custom Mommy Creations I opened in my email this morning!! And I have to say that one of these Mommies is a BEGINNER!!!!! Hats off to the two of you and what an awesome job the two of you did!!!!!

Here is what this Mommy said, "Aimee~ Thanks so much for your easy to follow instructions! I have never successfully made anything using a pattern before. I am rather pattern illiterate and all those tissue paper pieces tend to make me break out in a sweat so I make all of A's clothes from designs I draft myself. Yours were amazingly easy and a lot of fun to sew!! Here is a picture of my princess(and her handsome brother) in her last minute Easter ensemble made using your patterns. This is a great design and I anticipate it fitting her through a couple of summers at least. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful God-given gift of design with others! May grace and joy in Christ Jesus abound to you!"

Thank you SO MUCH, C, for sending me this picture and for the super kind words!! I love the Amy Butler fabric you chose and your children SHINE!!!!!

And here is the other one, "Hi Aimee, Just wanted to send you a picture of the outfit I created for Easter. I received lots of ooohs and aaahs over this one, I told everyone about your site and that if I could make this anyone could (beginner sewer) . Anyway, thank you for your super cute patterns and how easy you designed them for us to make."

Thank you SO MUCH, M, for sending me this picture! I am truly blessed with both pictures. I love your fabric and your daughter is beautiful!

Please, if any of you have pictures of your Custom Creations, I would love to receive them! And thanks to all of you who send them in. I get SEW :) excited to see Mommies sew their princess an outfit!! I know, from my own experience, the awesome feeling to have your daughter or daughters wear "Mommy's creation" !!!!!

Boutique Easter Basket Sewing Pattern!

Here are two CUTE CUTE Boutique Easter Baskets from a beginner sewer who is a Mommy and an Aunt! This Mommy / Aunt made a Boutique Easter Basket for her daughter and her 5 month old niece! Thanks, P, for blessing me with this picture!! They are both adorable!

FAITH Double Layer Dress Top Sewing Pattern!

It looks like a FAITH kind of Easter!! I am almost finished with Easter outfits and gifts! Three do not have elastic yet and I am sure I will wait to the VERY last minute to do this! Why do we do that!! :) The two green polka dot dresses are going to be gifts. I am going to try and see if I have time to drop them off and get a hot pink monogram Initial for the front of the dress! How cute is that going to look?! I had already made a pair of Boutique Bottoms for each of my girls last year so I will just pair that up with their FAITH Easter Dress.

Just a side note about FAITH: When you go to gather the top band, for a normal size toddler or child, you will not have bunches of gathering space. FAITH is designed to have that slightly gathered look at the top. I didn't like the way it looked with a heavy gathering space. However, if you want more gathering space then just make a one size bigger for your princess!

FAITH Sewing Pattern!

Today I started on Zoë's Easter Dress. I am using the bunny elephant owl ladybug fabric I had in another post! Anyway, while I was sewing this one, which is the FAITH Double Layer Dress Top, I decided to fold the loops differently and I believe it makes a much cleaner look to the back. Here are a couple of pictures. I have not added the elastic yet. I tried it on Rose and although it looks like a cleaner look on the hanger it seems it wouldn't make a difference which way you decided to fold the loop. It's up to you! I basically just folded them over where the two ends were on top of each other instead of side by side.
